What’s that music called that plays while you’re on the Pillar of Autumn mowing down grunts? It’s remarkably upbeat and silly considering all of the carnage going on.
That needs to return.

I think Halo 3 was a bit of “fan service” when it came to the music so many remixed tracks from the old games.

To me, there is not a single instrumental in the entire series that evokes so much emotion as that song. It’s Halo to the max: heroic but with those chilling high notes that go right into your soul.
The perfect ending to a game that sees us at the brink of destruction with sacrifices being made: Cortana being left behind, Arbiter losing his faith, Earth being overrun, High Charity being overrun. Everything seems more dark than ever before, and yet there is a touch of hope in the song.
Fitting of H5 I think to show Chief’s desolation: no more Cortana, perhaps no more loyalty to the UNSC…and then maybe have the song reworked to build up to a more grand finale and have Chief team up with Blue Team?
One can only hope I guess.
“Pillar of Autumn” from Halo: Reach. Few Halo tracks have come close to making me feel so much emotion as that one.
I think we should get newer, fresher music. HOWEVER, I wouldn’t mind the return of a couple old favorites redone.

The Halo main theme in the main menu of course. If the next Halo doesn’t have the monks chanting, 343i will be in a serious trouble. I’d like to hear Heavy Price Paid, Ghosts of Reach, Unyielding and On a Pale Horse.
But new and good music is always welcomed. Hope Davidge doesn’t return.
so many people have differing opinions on halo 2, but my god did it have amazing musical accompaniment.
aside from most tracks off h2, CE and ODST have really strong musical tracks, h3, wars, reach and h4 trailed behind.
truth and reconciliation suite and skyline would be 2 non-halo 2 tracks i’d like to see in a new form…just not by neil davidge.

I was thinking remastered so it sound more new than just a remake but it is kinda the same thing.
