Old Question: How do you stop Arbiter/Anders Rush?

Have lost 4 games in a row. I’m mediocre at the game, but my friend is quite good. The 3 first games we lost we to the same 2 guys, same basic strat. They rushed hogs, and came in with arbiter. Then built up banshees on th back of the rush. We had a human and a covenant of different types each time. I tried building turrets, tanks, my own hogs. Nothing worked. We got crushed every time. 4th game was same only brute chieftain instead. Friend says the ONLY way to stop arbiter anders rush is to do it yourself, faster and better. Any other ideas? I can learn to rush better, but I find it boring, and also like having other options available. Suggestions?

So from what I read, you got hog rushed by Anders, along with the Arbiter, who built banshees soon after.

First off, you need to build two turrets right off the bat, as well as two supply pads and a barracks. Your teammate either needs to build the same himself, or if you are going to make something to hold off the rush, he needs to supply you the resources to build it fast.

Depending on if you’re human or covenant, I suggest building marines and flamers, or jackals and hunters. Make sure you build two back turrets and upgrade them to anti-air, as well as having some footsoldiers back there to help the turrets out.

If you’re human, disruptors are going to help you push off the rush. If covenant, don’t be afraid to use your leader power to destroy the hogs while your jackals take care of their arbiter.

But like stated either, your teammate either needs to be supplying you, or making an army of their own during this.

The problem is, that the enemy arbiter kept raging down anything we put up. Turrets? Dead, tanks? Along with warthogs to back him, dead. Flamers/jackals? Dead. If we disruptioned, arbiter ran out of the field, and recalled while Anders screened for him, then they attacked another base. All the while building up banshees on the back of the rush. I was all 3 humans eventually, friend was all 3 covenant. We both built units, but arbiter supported by warthogs just crushed everything. The best we could do was slow them down.
