Start halo 5, when it loads you’ll see old banshee from Halo CE-ODST flying in the background picture
Concept art
nothing more, nothing less.

Just odd, I mean everything Happens for a reason.
343i is so anti-bungie though, anything that bungie did they usually change it (Mostly for the worse, Armor being an example)
I always found that weird. Why show a Type-26B when we have the Type-54? Especially on the final cover art?
Both models are on the cover of the game too, in the background. It doesn’t mean anything.
I mean old tech can certainly still be used so yeah

But why use old tech, especially vehicles that were great, when we can use paper tanks and vehicles unless it’s ONI Grade Cardboard?

Canonically, it would make more sense for the covenant to use Older models From Reach-Halo 3. I have no idea where they’re getting the funds for all the new vehicle and weapon variants

The Covenant isn’t using older models due to the stocks of said pmodels running out. The fall of High Charity reduced production of them, making them harder to acquire, forcing them to use newer, more readily available weapons and vehicles.

I wouldn’t think that they are anti-bungie, they just don’t want to be “the people who took over after bungie”, they want to be “the current makers of the modern Halo”.
Logically, old tech could still be in use because stuff isn’t free.
Remember making things like military equipment requires resources. Just because a new model hits the battlefield doesn’t mean all the old tech gets yanked from an army. Militaries will use equipment as long as its all viable.
More realistically, it’s just concept art used to help build a set piece or an idea.
It could still be put into the warzone simulation with like better agility and plasma cannons.
