I’m all in for new medals and stuff but I think 343 should really go with halo 3 medal design. The new ones make me feel like I’m not playing a halo game, might just be me but that’s my two cents.
Personally, I don’t really care, but the old Halo 3 medals might look a bit TOO old. To me, they always looked like cheaply made Girl/Boyscout badges and their designs looked too flat. They wouldn’t mesh well with the current art style in my opinion.
I prefer the colors used for the medals in Halo 3 because they were way more unique which helped distinguish them from one another. For example, in Halo 5, the only difference between the Running Riot and Rampage medals are the number of spikes on the rim. If you look closely, the colors are slightly different, but the point here is that you need to sit there and stare at both medals to tell the difference.
However, I prefer the style of the new medals way more than that of the old medals. The new ones look like they’d physically carry some weight if they were real and that gives them more value in my mind.
I’m curious, OP, what about the new medals makes you feel like you’re not playing a Halo game?
Personally I would like to not see the Halo 3 or Halo 4/5 style medals return, but the Halo:Reach Medals, the dirty gritty look always made me feel like a bad a** when you would get a chain of medals all at once. They were detailed but weren’t shinny like the new ones. However as long as the beatdown medal goes back to the fist on the star like Bungie had it i dont care what style its in.

I see what your saying, but I didnt mean literally take them straight from halo 3, update them as necessary make them look better than they did, preferably keep the same colors.

I just really liked the colors and designs of the old medals then the new ones, but I think i have an interesting idea, much like how in halo 5 you can change the voice of the announcer once you buy then req pack for it. make a throw back medal pack witch and be bought for a few $ and will display the OG halo 3 or even halo 4 medals or slightly updated versions on them.
