343, please include old maps from H1/2/3/Reach in H4. There is no reason I should have to put in my H3 disc to play H3 maps. They should be in the new game as some are really good and they will bring old players back into the game. This is kinda like how i can play old dungeons in WoW even though they are not part of the new expansion.
You could even have map packs available that are just the H1 maps, H2, maps, etc. That an extra $40 (assuming 4 at $10 each) that myself and many others would probably buy and all you would need to do is put them into the new game engine and sell them.

None, please. Old maps have never really worked in the newer titles. Only Heretic because Halo 2 was so similar to 3, and Derelict/Wizard because they are so simple.
Nope, we all saw how maps like Hemorrhage & Reflection worked out with the weapon sandbox we had, in short, they didn’t.
Wait until the game comes out, wait until remakes arise from the map editing tool, then based on how they play, remake maps for DLC or add the remakes into Matchmaking.
I’ve said this may times before, but the maps on the disk should be all original maps. Maybe one or two remakes if that. However, I would love DLC of map packs. an H3 map pack would be AWESOME. If I had halo 4 + that map pack i would never need another game… until H5 and H6 came out Also no reach DLC please lol. I personally did not enjoy any of those maps. None of them really stood out, i mean yea forge world was cool but that could be replaced already.

My guess is eventually this might happen…but IIRC the purpose for what they’re claiming about not carrying over any old maps is that with 343 is wanting to have a game that they can claim for their own that while it’s copying the style of Bungie, it’s not directly using their older designs…they’re wanting to be judged on their own merits and ideas and not on how well they can replicate bungie’s awesomeness.
It’s kinda like what they’ve been saying about becoming a COD clone…if they chase someone else’s tail and do it badly it’s twice as bad as if they make a mediocre game.
And besides that, if 4 has a half-decent forge, which my guess is it’s going to be even more awesome than Reach, someone’s going to replicate each and every old map, just as how they have been on Reach and 3 (and reach’s on 3 and 3’s on Reach).

I’ve played a few good forge versions on reach…it really doesn’t.
Sure, they should be all new maps. But it would be awesome to have an H3 map pack. Even just an H3 playlists with H3 maps and take away armor abilities that ruin them for that playlist. This would help keep all the people who really liked H3 or H2 or whatever.
As much as I like some of the old maps I hope that EVERY of the Halo 4 maps will be new. Who knows, you might find a new favorite, and with more new maps the chance to find one is bigger then if you have some remakes in the mix.
