Old Halo PvP are terrible

Anyone else here agree the old halo pvp (Halo 1 - halo 3) are just plain terrible, the bad spawning horrible weapon and team balancing, the super slow moving, dont get me wrong, the campaign were the best thing, but the pvp seems to be overhyped by it’s old fanboy players, they talk alot of @#$% about halo 5 pvp but then older ones are so much worse, almost like they were poorly made by amateurs

Na, Halo CE had some spawn issues and H2 Vista/MCC does too but H2X and H3 are better in my opinion.

Higher TTK requiring more skill.
Leading shots (Halo 3)
Good spawns
Balanced map design
Good map variety.

Halo 4/5’s MP has its audience too though dont get me wrong. I just dislike the power rangers style of play, the high speed movement isn’t really my thing but some like it which is fair enough. I also don’t think the maps are good at all in Arena for H5, with the exception of 1 or 2 maps. Finally, the maps all look like they’re made out of plastic toys, same with the armour of Spartans.

Alot of it is preference but to each their own.

Myself and thousands of other players couldn’t disagree with you more.

Imagine liking halo 5

Halo CE:
Bad spawns
Halo 2:
Glitches (Doble shot, sword fly, super jumps
Halo 3:
Inconsistent weapons, the BR, plasma rifle…
Bad spawns
Unbalanced map design
Worst servers in MLG (No LAN)
The Classic games don’t have a perfect PVP.
But Halo 5?
Smurfs
Campers… In onyx and champs
The BR and DMR sucks
Worst map variety
And the toxic players…

Troll a little harder…

I’m not sure if this is a troll post but without Halo: CE (2001), Halo 2 (2004), and Halo 3 (2007), you wouldn’t have Halo 5: Guardians (2015). Keep in mind, the older games were made in a different time for video games and on a console that didn’t establish itself as a contender with Sony and Nintendo until Halo 2 stunned the world in 2004. Every game had new features and was bigger in every way because they had newer technology at their disposal.

If you weren’t around during the hype for those games and you didn’t grow up playing those games with friends, you wouldn’t understand. I’m not saying your opinion is wrong, you’re entitled to your opinions, I’m just saying that you should respect your elders and know your roots.

People just had fun with the multiplayer. The points you bring up are opposite of what others and myself thought, however you have your own opinion. I’m not one of those people who thought Halo 5’s multiplayer was terrible.

  1. Bad spawning
I only remember experiencing bad spawning in Halo Combat Evolved. For any Halo game, if you play a match on a map with more players than the recommended amount the game tells you, then you are more likely to run into bad spawning.

  2. Horrible weapon balancing
One main goal of winning a match in multiplayer, is to grab the power weapons on the map. Examples include the Rocket Launcher on Halo 3’s The Pit and the Energy Sword on Halo 2’s Midship. Players battle to get the power weapon, and when you get the weapon you are at an advantage. A player with a power weapon can lose to someone who has a starting weapon (like the Battle Rifle.) If you are talking about weapon balancing in general and not the weapons on the map, then you are not completely wrong (Halo Combat Evolved didn’t necessarily have the most balanced weapons,) but I wouldn’t say that Halo 3’s was terrible.

  3. Super Slow movement
Sorry, but I feel like you and some others exaggerate how slow the game is. The original games didn’t have sprint either, but I think Bungie designed the maps to compensate for the movement speed. If you are playing on a large map, an example being Halo 3’s Valhalla, there are plenty of vehicles to get around the map faster. There are Mongooses, Warthogs, and Banshees.

One last thing. I think there are those who do overhype how good the old games were, and those people also don’t like Halo 5’s multiplayer. There’s been a divide between Halo fans with the old games and the new games. The old games are more simple because they didn’t have abilities like sprint, thrusters, clamber, and so on. Some fans of the older games didn’t like how the new games focused on advanced movement. I simply enjoyed all the games. I enjoyed the new abilities in Halo 5 and I liked the simple gameplay of the older games.

I like less mobility, it makes it harder to correct poor positioning amd makes you get it right the first time.h3 movement is a bit slow, but mlg settings have higher walk speed, thats what i play mostly.

A young kid picking up Xbox one for the first time with halo 5 will like this game but for us older players we’ve experienced what other halos are like during their days lets hope Infinite will bring something more 2 the table x)

Personally, I absolutely love the older games because that’s “what halo is” and the newer games have taken a more call of duty parkour turn to it. I also feel the campaign brings you to feel less of a connection to Chief. Good games, yes, but not what I’d hope for halos future. Would have made great games if they just weren’t halo titles.

Count me in as well! There will be WAY more fans of the Halo franchise that disagree with OP.

I prefer classic halo multiplayer I can’t say I played H2 online but I can say I did play H1 (PC) online and H3 when they were popular. They were the games that got me hooked onto halo so I’ll always side with the classics over new school  maybe MCC can get fixed 100% and let everyone experience all halo games properly! That’s including myself I never played H2 online
