Old Halo Infection Gametype [VOTE]

You all know you miss it.

Infection on halo 3 and reach, was the reason I myself, and probably most of the community, continued to play the game. Sure, I play campaign, beat that in like 8 hours, play matchmaking for a few days, and then I’m already bored.

The reason Halo 3 was so successful was because of this. Almost every single custom game, which was probably played more than matchmaking, was based off the infection game type. Not meaning that it was all based on killing the humans as the infected, no. It was useful for many more ways than that.

Maps such as…

Duck Hunt:
Description: Sort of a parkour map, where the one infected person would spawn in a cage viewing the whole parkour area. He would try to snipe all the humans as they attempt to complete the course.
Why it’s no longer possible: We can no longer give the infected their own weapons. They should get the same player traits/options as humans.

Icecream Man:
Description: The one infected person would have a warthog, which he spawns next to at the end of the course. The humans spawn at the start, and are very slow. The icecream man will try to splatter them all, and they have to make it to the other end and get the weapons to kill the ice cream man.
Why it’s no longer possible: Infected people (flood now) cannot get into vehicles. They should get the same player traits/options as humans.

Cops Vs. Robbers:
Description: Humans would all spawn in separate jail cells, in a small prison. They would have to get around the 1 cop (infected person) and try to break out. They also have to obey the cop, or he can kill you. The cop cannot kill anyone randomly. The small prison facility allowed them to walk around freely, with washrooms and a cafeteria. Very fun and popular game.
Why it’s no longer possible: We cannot give the infected their own weapons, they cannot pick them up either. Also, they should be able to get in vehicles and we should be able to edit their traits as if they were humans.

Ghost Busters:
Description: The infected people (ghosts) would have active camo the whole game. They played on a map that was designed as a small town with vehicles and weapons and such around it, for the humans (vehicles also for ghosts). The ghosts would go around and try to kill every human, without being seen or killed. Also another very popular and fun game.
Why it’s no longer possible: Again, infected people cannot spawn with any weapons, or get in vehicles.

I think that’s enough for examples. Anyways, my point is, 343 or Microsoft, should implement the old halo infection as a new gametype, or edit the Flood gametype to the old infection ways.
I really suggest they make it as a new gametype, though. Since I do like the concept of the new flood too.

I’m already bored of the game without this, and I’m not usually that kind of guy who hates on games.

No, it is pointless to bring it back as a whole new gametype. We just need all the options from infection in 3/Reach back. Why they took them away I have no idea.

The reason I suggested to create a new gametype, is because how they have the custom character and everything. Can’t really add a weapon in their hands when their hand is a sword. But I guess they could just add the option to change the player model to human.

True but they could just add an option where you could choose between a spartan or flood model. Either way, 343 really choked on infection/customs.
