I think i was 6 when i first played halo in 2001. i was very young and didn’t grab the concept of the story except that you crash landed on a giant earth like ring and the aliens were gonna use it to kill everyone. maybe at the time that’s all it was. the game play i understood and enjoyed. i owe my love for gaming to halo and i will always be a halo fanatic. as i grew older i started to understand the story and that just drove my passion for the game to new heights. by now your probably wondering why i am writing this and my reasons are simple. i am not trying to start a discussion or be informative, i am just letting 343i know that they have one more fan out there that has a strong emotional tie to the halo franchise, so much so i started to tear with nostalgia when i first started playing halo 2 anniversary. Halo 2 is my favorite out of all of them. when Xbox live was first release i didn’t have the knowledge or the money to get it until 2010 i believe, so i am a relatively new to Xbox live, but not to halo. i played halo 2 from 2004 all the way to 2010 when i finally got my copy of halo 3 and Xbox live and a 360 for that matter. So i know halo 2 in and out and love it with a passion. Which is why i want to thank 343i for this remake. Some of the music choices i didnt like such as the part your finding the heretic leader and that incubus song comes on and now its a different one kinda makes me sad and the breaking Benjamin song on gravemind in the musolium is gone and its replacement in my opinion doesn’t suffice, but putting that aside, i want the people at 343i to know that this fan is not only satisfied but extremely grateful for the remake. the cinematic scenes are perfect the graphics are outstanding, its like i rub a magic lamp and a genie fulfilled my wish. halo 2 anniversary is how halo 2 should have looked in its time but couldn’t because of the lack of tech, so thank you 343i for renewing the timeless memories that will now look better. it dawned on me that 343i is a fitting name just as guilty spark 343 was the “keeper” of halo sort of speak, you guys are the keeper of the franchise and Halo: MCC is a big leap in the right direction, especially after halo 4. Now i am not saying halo 4 wasn’t a bad game, in no way do i regret the time spent in it, but as a die hard halo fan like myself, it didn’t feel like halo. The story, although i was fairly good, didn’t please me in a way i want a halo game to. the introduction to the Prometheans was awesome and the twist about them blew my mind, and actually seeing a forerunner was awesome to but the way they came in and there involvement in the story and even as small as the texture little details didn’t please me the way a halo game should. another disappointment was the way the covenant looked. the elites dont look and feel like elites and the grunts, jackals, and hunters follow suite. i appreciate you tried but unfortunately you fell short. but like i said i dont hate the game it just wasn’t what halo should be. the environments were beautiful but the architecture of the forerunners didn’t give me the halo vibe and neither did some of the human architecture and how some vehicles looked, one example was the pelican, just didnt feel halo to me but remember this is my opinion. so 343i if your looking for some advice, this comes from an old and die hard halo fan and take it or leave it but its there. overall im glad you guys have the privilege but burden of nurturing this franchise and i will always remain loyal but doesnt mean i wont ever be disappointed either. I love you guys share my enthusiasm of this game and i know you guys are striving to do good with it and for that i am happy and look forward to what you guys will bring in the future and of coarse will support you guys. as i wrap this up i just wanted 343i to know there there is one more die hard fan out there and i wanted to share my appreciation for halo:MCC and that i now have something new to play and enjoy for the next couple years, but i also hope for halo 5 and halo 6 that you guys try a little harder to make them feel like halo. thank you again for this collection.
Enjoy it! Halo will always have a special place in my heart. I’ve clocked in thousands of multiplayer games online and with friends and it never gets old when you are in good company. Enjoy the campaigns, rock out in multiplayer (when it works) and relive the Halo glory days
