Its not 343i that do gamerpics. More its Microsoft.
And the reason you cant retrieve older gamerpics is. The new ones are bigger and high rez. While the older ones are small/very small and have varying quality. So yea there is a generation gap between them.
For this problem though. I recommend going on the official Xbox forums. You can get a lot more out of it than here I am afraid.
