I recently had an idea sparked by comments by you guys in one of my threads, a truly awesome idea. They could bring in old enemies with their original graphics into FireFight as a cool game mode! I love this idea so much, imagine fighting the old grunts, elites, hunters and flood from Halo CE, how fun. With there original voices and sound effects in Halo 6 FireFight. Even iconic enemies from Halo 2, Halo 3 (ODST same thing) and Halo Reach could be added. Just like how they added the H2 BR and CE Magnum in Halo 5. This idea is wicked; it would spark nostalgia and it would make Halo 6 feel like home. Just imagine those old grunts running away from you with there classic styled appearance and weapons.
If you like the idea as much as I do, spread the word and tell me what you think.
I mean having all phenotypes of the covenant species would make things interesting. Even letting mixed armour and phenotypes come in (h4 elite with reach armour) would be awesome especially if other playable races come back.
The Kig-yar in particular having three types wold be interesting since two types fill the same role (Bungie jackal and 343 jackal). With the 343 one being bulkier they could make that one more aggressive and try and swarm players where the Bungie ones are thinner and so act more carefully. Then skirmishers dive in and out. Always trying to attack from behind. Be interesting

I think it’s less about “phenotypes” and more about actually having character models from CE thrown into a game that’s at least 2 console generations ahead. Kinda like how Metal Gear Solid V has a few skins directly ripped from Metal Gear Solid 1. Or how DOOM (2016) had classic Doom levels (old graphics and all) hidden as easter eggs. These types of things are there purely for nostalgia. And while nostalgia’s great and all, I don’t see this idea happening so long as 343 wants multiplayer to fit into Halo’s canon.

Which is why I’m so strongly against this nonsensical idea from the get-go. Deciding upon gameplay and sandbox solely because of a futile canonical reason - in a sci-fi multiplayer arena shooter non the less! - is the wrong way to go. I hope 343i will makes a clear cut between matchmaking and campaign in the future. Barely anyone I known so far liked the Spartan games idea anyway…
I’d like to see the model of a sword Elite used in one of the original HALO CE trailers. The Elite had an energy sword and a wrist energy shield, a shield that never made it into the games. That would be a cool character.
Your idea is good, but I think if we do get firefights like this, it should be in the mcc.
