I can’t see any plus side to this new cutter. I understand they couldn’t get his old VA back, but why change his appearance so much too?
That’s true. I just hate major changes to characters without a good excuse

In Halo wars 1, he looked tired, like a man who fought his entire life. Seems accurate.

Mo-cap if I had to guess. Cutter is now being portrayed by Gideon Emery and they’re modeling cutter off of Emery, which is stupid because Cutter now looks way younger than he did in Halo Wars 1, Emery did extra voices for Spartans in Halo Wars 1 so I make constant connections to Cutter now sounding like a Spartan in Halo Wars 1 and Cutter now looks like another version of a character from Advanced Warfare except he has grey hair now.
It’s nitpicky I know, and Gideon Emery is good in every game he is in acting wise, but I notice it and it is irritating. Don’t change the actors if there was nothing wrong with them to begin with.
I had made this side by side comparison.
Really the only made differences I see is the beard, which can hide a lot of facial details, and his eyes look less fatigued… but he’s been in Cryosleep for 28 years… so…

If only they’d given new Cutter a manlier 'stache this whole debate would have never happened.
I like Old Cutter.
