Halo 3, Reach, and 4 had a large wealth of armor that we could customize our Spartans with. A lot of the armor from Halo 4 returned to Halo 5, but several sets from 4 and a lot of the sets from Reach and 3 did not return, and some of these would be really cool to have back, either as they were or with some reimagining. Here’s a list of all the armor from previous games that aren’t in Halo 5 in any form.
Halo 3
-CQB
-EOD
-Rogue (Mk VI Gen 1)
-Hayabusa (and Katana)*
Which ones would you guys like to have back the most?
I personally would like Halo 4’s Hazop or EOD or Halo Reach’s GRD.
*Hayabusa itself can not return due to it only being included in the first place due to a licensing agreement between Halo 3 and Dead or Alive 4, but I included it in the list because it did exist in another game. The Katana might be possible as a variant of Shinobi. **GRD was to be included in the Defiant Map pack for Reach but wasn’t included due to technical reasons. In-game images of it exist, but it isn’t available in any form to us.
EDIT: Added Prefect, Ricochet, and Mark V Classic, because I forgot about the Champion’s Bundle.
How about more armor variations like in Reach. Ability to change out elbow/knee pads, shells in forearm or tech pad, etc. Bring the full on customization back. But that’s for another topic.

gritty practical armor design needs to return to the franchise. we have 5 variants for one specific task. And isn’t the UNSC broke at this point? How are they able to fund all these government equipment contracts. I see now why the insurrection is making a comeback. wasteful spending is destroying loyalty to the UNSC.

I don’t know all of the lore these days, but I seem to recall that something about the expansion of the Spartan program led to a rise in need for armor… enter the GEN-2 Mjolnir and myriad private corporations creating customized parts for the base layer. If you read the descriptions of the helmets/armors/visors you can get some idea.
So the UNSC might not be spending all of that money. Spartans might be getting the Recruit armor and buying extraneous parts for themselves (I think some parts of the US military are allowed to do this, too, but I don’t know anything about those regulations).
