Old armors coming back a sign?

Im not the only one who had this idea, humanity is running low on resources so we’re going back and finding old armors/weapons used by MIA Spartan II’s, and hopefully III’s (SPI PLEASE 343)

video by Xperia, id love to see this come fruition. The most exciting part of halo to me was the human covenant war, when we have inferior technology but still kick butt.

Plus Gen 1>Gen 2 (cosmetically) and if we get old armor in halo 6 i hope for old shield recharge noise

it does make sense since the created control most if not all industrial planets the UNSC has. SO any resistance force would have to start using equipment from the covenant war. But I do hope to still some of the new stuff just in limited numbers.

im sure it will, just upgrade the old stuff if possible

The only problem I have with this(and in general, a problem I have with the Created arc as a whole) is it’ll be a huge step back. Humanity was supposed to be PASSED the point of having to scavenge and salvage whatever they can get, we’re just going to be re-tracing the same path we’ve already done. Not very exciting.

At least according to a canon fodder released before the weird warthogs, Arbiter holds some amount of Sangheilios soil against the Created still, so they do have whatever the Arbiter could provide on that land. Which is little enough. I expect that everything else the Infinity needs (food, water, air, and a mountain of parts) has to come from independent colonies. Those guys don’t make things to be pretty; just to work, and not in a sleek, form-fitting way. Whatever gets the job done and puts food on the table.

In short, I hope we see the Swords of Sanghelios and the Infinity looking piecemeal and out of sorts, because it would be weird if everything still looked glossy and new when the Infinity doesn’t have a steady supply line.

True that, I hope the armors look worn and battle tested again like Reach

Yeah they are running out of ideas

See no reason why infinity can’t maintain and make new resources, if it can make mantis’s, maintain and produce hundreds of mjolnir armor while keeping them in tip top condition. I’m pretty sure it can maintain it’s other resources.

The introduction of old armors is most likely just fan service and has no canon related benefit to the franchise.

For the sake of art style at least, gawd I hope so, yes. I’m cautiously optimistic that 343 is open to some feedback here and we’re seeing so much of the older art style both as H5 REQ items and in HW2 because they’re poised to make a comeback in H6. We have some canonical reasons why it makes sense.

I’d at least be happy to see the old and new styles co-existing.

(I do agree, though, with the thesis that it’s only an artistic change to suit us. I’m not so convinced switching to older tech is gonna “fool” the Created, if that’s the reasoning behind it.)

as long as they go with the black undersuits on armor is my concern. the whole suit changing to solid color ruins the artwork. could add tertiary and give us even more flavor

If the descriptions of the classic helmets in Halo 5 tell us anything, it would tell us the complete opposite of what you’re saying.

A few lines of inconsequential text meant to try and make some some sort of connection to current canon isn’t really indicative of any kind of major shift to older designs. I personally don’t have a preference for one style over the other, but wouldn’t mind if older armors/equipment were implemented in future games - however in this instance I do think it is just a play on players’ nostalgia more than anything in order to maintain the multiplayer population and interest.

This^^^

Givin that most of the new Spartan armor is still being developed they can’t bring new armor out fast enough so by finding old gen 1 armor and modify it to gen 2 specs the unsc can bring more ready Spartans to the battfiled with modified old gear then waiting for new gear to be made
