Yeah, so there has been talk about Halo Waypoint forums. I know they’re disbanding and updating things, they’re tearing apart friends and getting rid of the best place to laugh and have serious conversations. But what’s seriously happening? If anyone wants to give me the full explanation of the crap that’s happening right now that’d be great.

The only thing I know is that 343 Industries is going to restart everything in the Halo Waypoint website especially when it comes to the Halo Waypoint app. At the same time, they also say that the Spartan Companies and the Forums will not be in the Halo Waypoint website anymore. That’s all I know.

This is wrong.
Back in June, 343 said that the new forums will be using Discourse. Discourse is a tool, not a separate site. It’s a unified system used to build forums on websites without all of the pain of making everything yourself. If Waypoint vNext is using Discourse, a new forums system on vNext is confirmed. Both the Gearbox Forums and the Facepunch forums use Discourse if you want an idea as to what vNext forums might look like. Edit: Although nothing has been said about app functionality.
Right now the uncertainty lies with what might happen to the current forums. Will a good decade worth of forums be deleted? What happens to ranks and medals? Nothing has been mentioned about that yet.
This probably came off as all ‘internet offended’ crazy sort of thing. Nothing is meant against you TanEugene (or OP), I’ve seen you around the forums and you’re pretty cool.
