Okay seriously it's time desync gets a fix. Enough is enough!

Best thing you can do is move on. It’s been almost a year and desync still exists. That tells me either they can’t fix it or just don’t think it’s an important enough problem to fix. There’s too many games out there that are better than infinite to waste your time with it anymore. MW2 is gonna be the final blow to halo infinite. Forge isn’t gonna save it if the desync and other issues still persist

Agreed. People think forge will save Infinite but the truth is it’ll increase the desync issue. Just like every content update we’ve gotten to date.

I guess for me personally the worst part of this, considering I like playing in a more competitive mode (so ranked over social mostly), is that even if all the issues are fixed sometime down the road, all the people I played with (small group), they aren’t ever coming back. They’ll have well moved on and stay moved on at that point (most of them are already there). I’m the one true Halo fan of our group, and so if say another full year passes and maybe 343 gets things on track or this rumored BR mode comes to fruition, it would be me as a team of one potentially coming back, and that sucks.

While I like ranked over social, at my age the point of playing this is for a fun social outlet, so playing with people I actually know that I don’t get to see in person any longer, and because of the launch issues and subsequent lack of course correction, I’ve effectively been robbed of that opportunity long term. Personal issue certainly, but I doubt I’m alone in the situation, based on how many games come out each year and the competitive nature of these companies, all vying for each others player base.

It was just absolutely abhorrent tonight. Tried playing ranked solo for the first time and that was my first mistake. Not only did it take me an insane amount of time to find matches on average, with sometimes just not finding any at all somehow (is the total player base truly that low)?? But more specifically, my god, was desync at an all time high. It was just miserable, truly. Normally, yea desync is an absolute nightmare in this game, but in the past I’ve had at least one person to watch my back that I could rely on tactically. Without that tonight it made it unbearable to play this game. The rankings (not on paper, but in actuality) make no sense. Either the ranking system is so horribly flawed in so many ways, or desync is somehow even worse than I imagined (not sure that’s possible after the things I’ve witnessed last 10 months), or likely it’s both.

Tonight I played people below my level and at my level and only occasionally very slightly above. People multiple ranks lower more than once were like Greek gods of war immune to any and all weapons, able to move and shoot flawlessly and basically be omnipotent. Doesn’t matter if I grenaded and then two shot them before they even began firing, somehow I consistently lost (and badly) in these situations where I absolutely had the upper hand). Then you had other players, at similar levels, who played like they’ve never played online games before and only on my team of course. How is the disparity this great when we are all supposed to be around each other’s “skill”. It’s desync and it’s a severely flawed ranking system. It’s a deadly combination that sucks all the joy out of any potential fun this game could ever be.

I also got perfected by a shock rifle at one point. Had full shield, zero damage done to me before the shot, kill was unassisted, and when I rewatched this in theater slowed down, their reticle was clearly on my stomach when they fired (not even the chest). How does that even happen?!? Was it on my head on their screen from their perspective?

I was gonna go up until MW2, but I don’t know that I can make it. It’s painfully frustrating to play a game this broken and inconsistent.

Player base isn’t as low as the community thinks. It’s actually stable. The problem is SBMM creates difficult matching making parameters, ranked population is now spread across 4 playlist, and the games matchmaking system is built backwards.

I must confess up to this point I thought D Sync was an issue but not a major one as I had it once or twice a session.

Over the last 10 days I am getting every other game and I don’t mean questionable deaths, it has been horrendous and hilarious depending on the circumstances.
I have fast internet, get low pings so why has it suddenly got soooo bad.
No wonder people who get it all the time have left.
TBH don’t know how long I can give it !

This is exactly why so many people have left. 343 has constantly chosen to not listen to the community since the release of this game. Unfortunately the only people they appear to listen to is pro players. But at least we got a manger nerf right?

Desync is the major reason for people leaving, and should have been addressed by now.

They also made bad decisions for playlists, and lack of content, but the issues is the biggest factor.

At this point, if they don’t come out and give a date soon, people are going to have to assume that it’s not fixable, and leave the game behind. It’s too bad, grat game plagued by a major issue.
You can’t take this game seriously.

I’ve decided to take a break from the game, honestly it’s not worth my time when I keep giving it a chance over and over again, ony to get banned over and over again for leaving all those hopeless matches. S3 is just around the corner, if this won’t change anything I think I’m done with the game for good.

Unfortunately, you’ll be disappointed with season 3.

I can’t blame you there. I still enjoy the game, but it’s hard, and games shouldn’t be this hard to like.

When you can’t take a game seriously because half your shots don’t count, it becomes not fun.

At the risk of repeating myself and others, Apologies,

The thing is, if the problems I am having with Halo Infinite were on my end, I would and should be able to reproduce some of those problems while participating in other games, but that is not happening.

When I play Destiny, my movement is fluid, and my aiming is sharp, and hit detection works, I know, in a shooter … who knew??? that hit detection was an important and necessary component in a shooter, not an optional feature, well, obviously not for Halo Infinite.

Destiny has big open world areas with a lot of action happening, with many people taking part in events, if there should ever be networking glitches I would think that’s where I would experience it, but no, 98% of the time, it runs well, and it’s the same regardless of the games I play.

I can make due with a bit of lag, even a bit of rubber-banding, but no hit detection, 75% of the time, is unacceptable. Every time I play PVP, I say, that’s it, I will not play this again, but Halo has been part of my gaming experience for years now, and it has proven to be more difficult to give up than I anticipated, I keep playing, and I keep getting the same result … what does that say about me?

It’s sad to see now « 2023 » in this post.
I mean, how many games could have survived with this kind of major problem ?
I’m glad Halo has a strong fan base but it won’t last forever…

You know, there is another theory to all this. While blank melees are obviously desync, the lack of “shot registration” could actually be skilled-based damage. Skill based-damage is something that has been brought to light recently with MW2/Warzone 2. While I personally don’t think it’s a feature in Infinite, I also wouldn’t be surprised.
