Nope. Tomorrow. Wednesday.
Same here. The game was super fun when S2 started. Since a couple days or a week, it feels like everyone is LucidTW except maybe in BTB. And the game is so laggy and unfair all the time too.
No, it’s supposed to be fixed this week in a real update that you’ll download. Assuming it passed the certification process.
So here’s a question. Assuming what you’re being told is correct, and the real cause is tied to the XBL profiles info, could that be the reason they took down the technical article regarding desync?
In kind of a “whoops, looks like this is really wrong, ×quietly gets rid of article×” moment?
Maybe you live across the street from a server farm? ![]()
Absolutely possible yes. That article was released prior to them adding in back end stuff to collect telemetry data.
The original article could have pointed out basic issues which honestly could have been fixed already as far as we know. Just don’t notice it since it’s not the root cause. Guess is as good as mine at this moment.
It was immediately obvious that article was just a gaslighting smokescreen, which had very little to do with the actual problems in Halo Infinite.

I feel when I’m getting really bad desync vs certain players they are always on PC. I wish they would let us turn off cross platform.
So I have to ask, how do you know they are on PC? There is no way to tell. I play on PC mostly but also on my Series X and get desync on both. Notice zero difference.
If anything I’d honestly say desync would be worse against people play on Xbox One rather then PC.
If you pull up their Xbox profile menu it will show a PC icon next to their gamertag.
There are definitely certain players within the same game that will have different amounts of desync towards me. My guess is that it is more of a connection issue than a PC vs. Console issue.
[Edit: I should add… I am on console and I often play with a friend who is on PC. When I experience really bad desync with a specific player on the other team, my friend usually experiences is too.]
Since season 2 started, I have gotten placed on worse servers than before and it doesn’t make any sense. I’m in Eastern US. The game should never have to put me in servers that aren’t Eastern US. I’ve also be placed against the same players multiple games in a row on these bad servers. Are there really that few people playing?
The matchmaking system is completely scuffed and it isn’t helping the desync issue.
You can add all the systems you play to your Xbox profile. Just because it shows PC doesn’t mean they are on that system at the time. Unless it only shows PC and nothing else.
But on a system level note I imagine cloud gaming on any device isn’t exactly help the cause either. Part of the reason Halo is so closely tied to the Xbox profile.
Hes right, you see the platform players use eight now if you open the gamertag profile on your console. It has nothing to do with linked profiles/systems.
Tested it with a friend.
You can see who you played with and it’ll show what platform they’re using, unless they’re offline. You’ll get a PC symbol by there name if they’re PC, a steam symbol in the lower corner like you’re talking about adding platforms (but not always, not sure, might be a population thing) and obviously console will have nothing.
That’s just my experience anyway.
But wait, there’s more. Back smacks being back rubs. Projectiles being rubber and vehicles as hard as foam.
Edit: Literally just had a 4 minute Land Grab match where I managed to get 50 points in total.
Chopper showed several head on hits and nothing happened.
Sprayed a warthog and its gunner with the AR, and another player destroyed it with a Hydra, I saw all the hitmarkers but nothing apparently registered because I got zero points, nothing.
This weekend has been insane in desynch for me. I know when I play bad but this is recognisably inconsistent in how it plays and behaves.
Really enjoying it when it works, but those moments are infrequent and rare at the moment, to the point where I can’t even motivate myself to play anything else.
I haven’t played Halo Infinite for the past two months. I’ve literally waited for news about desync finally being fixed before I actually hop back on, and play it. I love the gameplay of Halo Infinite, it’s the funnest multiplayer shooter, but having my melee miss, and shots miss is the most frustrating thing when playing a shooter. Fix your game, please.
Melees got an improvement with season two launch and miss less often. But they do still have some issues.
Is melees not registering until 1 second after or after you die still one of the issues?
Because that **** was annoying from both sides of the fight
Melee’s not registering is still a major problem and if you are an up-close engaging player melee being broken is brutal, the sheer amount of times I go straight through someone it’s a game killer. The thing is it doesn’t happen in the campaign only in multiplayer, so I think it’s something to do with no collision, when I go to melee someone it takes a bit of time for the system to register whether it is a friend or foe. In previous releases that problem did not exist, you could melee everyone without fail.
I get another problem with melee hits, this is difficult to explain, but I’ll give it a shot. When you are working in a graphics program or even something like Excel, there’s a feature called snap to grid and snap to object. There are many times when I go to melee someone, and that’s what it feels like, it feels like I’m snapping into their grid, and while I’m in their grid it feels like I’m being dragged along with them and I can’t get out of it, I can’t turn, there is nothing I can do, it’s temporary, but it’s noticeable.
I have never experienced it in any other game.
I agree, desync is a huge issue that 343i hasn’t bothered to fix, hopefully they do it soon as they seem to be focusing on quality of life updates (regarding this months drop pod)
Don’t get your hopes up. I don’t see a fix happening any time soon. If at all.
