Yeah I’m from the UK. Also someone explain the division system. I know I’m bad. Not super bad but nowhere near decent. Lost 80% of wualifier for slayer and it chucks me in platinum? Like…what

Most people are in platinum or higher. Anything lower is for people playing with their feet.
Edit: just to be clear i mean anything lower than platinum is usually people who are new to shooters or halo. Not trying to sound mean about it was just making a joke.

add me so we can practice i can be on right now. GT: Dead Cassette i got alot of stuff to show you
‘On point’ In this game is alot harder to get than in past halos, or other shooters. It is harder. You have to be MORE on point than it most games, if that makes sense.
Don’t get down on yourself, keep playing and practicing, and drop the magnum for a BR or Light Rifle especially any chance you get. (I play Arena. If you are a newbie you should probably improve your core skills in WZ first)

the first 10 matches for qualification depend on your personal skill: k/d, assists, objective
after that it places you in a rank that reflects your skill level (not entirely accurate)
Just takes practice. A good tip that someone told me way back in Halo 3 where I was just breaking into the competitive scene was that instead of raging because of a loss or whatever else happened, look into theater and critique your own gameplay. See if there were any moments in the match where you could’ve played differently by getting into a better position and engaging people at the right time. Also look at the best players’ perspective during the match as well, see what weapons they used, where they tend to go for the best advantage points on the map, etc.
Also going into customs with a friend and setting up a game with no time or kill limit to practice aiming helps out tremendously.

That I have tried. But not that I’m egotistical. I just find it difficult to step back and critique myself. No one wants to admit their flaws
Halos skill curve is steep and sometimes unforgiving but attainable if you want to get better.
look for youtube videos that may explain something simple you have over looked but dont treat it as gospel, play your game.
*if your struggling in warzone, either just try to hunt the ai enemy or stay with a hoard of players and add your firepower.
*intil your more familiar with a map stay around the edges, alot of players simply run round the perimeter hunting campers.
*take note of what maps you find yourself on and go make a custom match for yourself to run around in. Knowing where all the power weapons and your favourite weapon pick up are will help you decide where you want to be on the map. Practice getting to places as quickly as poss, some games can be won with in the first few seconds because you managed to get to that platform and hold off the enemy till your team arrive and take the sniper/launcher.
*dont quit a game. No matter how bad it gets your just there to learn how to become a gun boosting ninja and that really comes from the hard fight. Its frickin awsome though when you leap into a room and take down 3 spartans with skill and flare. Think of it as character building, all pro players know they are gonna get stomped sometimes.

The first 10 games are based on pure skill. If you go 10-0 and lose you will be higher than someone who goes 0-10 and wins. Assists also count and objective. Afterwards it’s all based on W/L.
Then once ranked you are bronze, silver, gold, platinum, diamond, onyx or champion. In the first 5 there are sub tiers from 1-6 where you can move up or down but not down in actual divisions. Onyx and champion give an actual number to you when I’m that rank but I think you can move back down to diamond if you do bad.
The initial release was also plaqued with bad placements as it wasn’t adjusted for large populations yet. In the Cartographer’s Gift, they are fine tuning it.
Best tip is watch some good players on youtube and yourself on theater. Play smart and put yourself in the best situation with cover to thrust behind if possible
