OKAy is anyone a little concerned?????

Okay so i just read the halo 4 article in game informer and im all excited reading about the campaing. I think its going to a new and exciting direction. Then i get to the halo multiplayer section and i was stunned into silence. I mean really your gonnna go the call of duty route creating classes and different weapons to spawn with allowing armour abilities like the horrendous armour lock that just mystirously made its way into the game series in Reach, which, mind you was supposed to be a prequel to the original halo games which never had such things. then on top of that you completely getting rid of weapon spawns and spawing them in random spots in the map completely eliminating the need for coordination and team work which has defined the competitive halo multiplayer since halo 2. Then when i sit here thinking can the game be crushed anymore beyond that i read that now not only will there be armour custimization, which i myself didn’t mind in reach, there will also be ingame skills that are gained from the armour.

So after sitting here begining to realize that my hopes for the continuation of competitve team based mutliplayer game where something called skill actually matters in the game. Were gonna turn it into a multiplayer game were just stupid noob tatics matter or say a completely lucky thing like have a random -Yoink- weapon drop infront of you instead of battling to controll the spawn of a weapon and maintain the edge that weapon gives you.

To all the poeple who dont agree with me sorry in advance for reading and wasting your time on this topic

for anyone else im eager to see whether or not anyone shares any sentinments.

I was concerned too, at first. But Frankie can calm stormy seas. It’s probably not as bad as it might seem.

Wait. Did you create an account just to make a thread that has already been made a billion times?

I hope so i was estatic to learn that they would be continuing the franchise(actually not that big of a surprise due to the money) but was kinda disapointed about the multiplayer article. Who knows though will just have to judge it on release night.

yeah sorry i had made the account and didnt really pay attention to any others topics. as i said in my orignal post im sorry if your time was wasted

Don’t judge the game yet. Until I see a Team Slayer game I will judge it.

A true enough statement, im not one of those people who say i wont be buying the game because im raging that they are trying a different direction, will still be getting midnight release. I just wanted to see others reactions and thoughts on the matter.

No, it won’t be CoD and if MP were to be ruined, it had already happened with Reach, seriously, after Reach it can only be better almost no matter what they do ^^
Loadouts means that you won’t have to run around with an AR during BTB or search for a DMR when you got a BR, as well as giving AR to those who want one.
Armor abilities can improve the game, Reach was a bad example but since AL is gone an Halo 4 is a new beast, it can be fun. Wallhack/aka forerunner vision might be the best camping prevention to date, instant spawns prevents spawn trapping and fighting for power weapons dis-encourages camping and betraying for those.
It sure has potential, potential to be better then both old Halos and modern CoD.

Why does EVERYONE seem to forget that ALL of these options are just that, options. More than likely, there is an on/off switch for everything that everyone is worried about. So to everyone else: STOP WHINING! Your almost as bad as the Battlefield fanboys, and believe me, they complain like no tomorrow.

Thank you for you thoughts on the matter as they are definately good counter to points to some matters i was concerned with.

Again if you have read my post in its entirty i said to anyone who disagrees or believes their time was wasted i have already apologized. Im not some immature whiner.

This topic was more so that i can see everyones thoughts on the matter as i am interested to see what those thoughts are. I have already said that regardless im still a supporter of the franchise since the original game.

Ok so you read the article and your excited for the campaign, but explain to me how new options will change the core gameplay? Custom Load outs are what bungie should of did in Reach, I mean in reach it was forced in because of Armour abilities. Now you may complain about loadouts but now you will not have worry about AR spawns, the fact you can spawn with you favorite non power weapon does not seem bad. May be its be but unlike call of duty I love all the weapons and there each different. Custom Load outs should be no worry. as for Armour Abilities the fact that sprint is default and Armour lock is not mentioned tells me 343i is going to try to improve it from bungie design. Now there is drop in and drop out while alot complain about this you need to realize the way most people are that play halo are this is the best fix. Minus XP does not work, and bans just make people mad when they get games that they do not want to play because all there other team mates quit. Now for spartan ops it seems 343i is giving a lot of effort not only is it4 player co-op but new stuff every week for free on the first season. I mean I love firefight but reach kind of seems like a good end point. Not saying I don’t want it to come back back but I think this might be for the best with a break.

Now these are the simulates to COD but what exactly makes more or new options change the core gameplay of halo to cod? Custom Load outs are with halo weapons in halo gameplay. Spartan Ops is a Halo co-op story, and drop in drop out is due to the fun everyone has in quit halo multiplayer.

I can see your point on how that it will improve the game and i generally agree with that, however, as many have mentioned to im worried that if not done correctly it will be essentially another game that on the outside looks spectacular with cutting edge graphics and the works but once you start playing and disecting the game play im worried that what you will get is just a big pile of manure, sort of like reach.

If anyone else has anyother thoughts please share as iam interested in hearing your opinions and dont forget to vote in the poll

lol

I bet you regret all those pointless topics now

I can’t even vote on this. Yes the gameplay could be different and the way the scoring is could change things. But I don’t have enough proof to tell me that said gaming experience will end. However Im sure despite all the changes classic options will be available.

Enough with the CoD comparisons. Why is it always that Halo’s trying to be like CoD? Halo doesn’t have to try to be like Cod or better than CoD. Halo has beaten CoD into the dirt with every release and nobody will admit it. Plus its not like we’re getting killstreaks and attack copters. No we’re getting simple loadouts which may make Halo play smoother and even more balanced. Frankie himself said that you won’t be able to put power weapons into your loadouts so how bad could it really turn out? The one major improvement is gonna be that these loadouts will allow people to experiment with different main weapons without having to find them first or wait for them if their team grabbed everything already. Everyone is so paranoid that loadouts will make everything suck when they don’t even stop and think about how it could improve gameplay in any way. And these “perks” will probably impact overall gameplay insignificantly. Maybe you’ll get some extra nades or you can sprint slightly farther, now does that sound bad? No. We still don’t have enough info to peg how it will play but Halo 4 sound pretty kick -Yoink- already and if you won’t give it a try because of the fact it has loadouts then you deserve to be left out. Plus no mention of armor lock, so its already 5x better than Reach just with that.

REALLY!!!?? Where is the gameplay footage that makes you think that it will suck or feel anything like CoD! Please share the link or GROW UP!!

halo only started to lose to COD with reach. H4 is continuing many aspects of reach in halo 4. Also COD is beatign halo in sales and popularity post reach release
