Okay I just had the best idea.

Okay, anyone who has read the books knows how brutal some of the covenant weapons and human weapons really are. eg. The plasma launcher melts people etc, etc.

What about if these weapons ACTUALLY did these things to the spartans/elites when, and only when you kill them. For example a kill shot with the Plasma Launcher will reduce the player to a puddle of goop.

Plasma Pistol will leave burn marks, most unsc weapons - bullet holes, etc, etc.

Of course an important thing would be for these ‘effects’ to not be ‘gory’ but… well… fun like Halo’s effects always are - Maybe a needler burst kill could make the spartan explode into confetti (you know what im talking about

That would be amazing.
But it would require the models to be changed in real-time. Which would be abundantly difficult.

I want the puddle of goop to spray all over the place though XD

Love the creativity! However i think that’s something that should be left out for

I don’t remember reading that a plasma grenade liquidizes people, at the most you would see ribbons of flesh, blood, and metal fly everywhere.

But this would be amazing, but it would take a hell of an engine… I think(I know nothing about this stuff).

lol, I was thinking of the Plasma Launcher. - Fixed now.

Still, I don’t think the Plasma Launcher would liquidize people either.

I wouldn’t count on it until the next console cycle. It sounds awesome to have plasma burn enemies with the detail described in the books, but it would probably take a lot of processing power.

And hey, while we’re at it every weapon can perform it’s own execution…o wait…

Hey, here’s a good idea. Why don’t we just stop toying around with the gimmicky stuff and debate things that would make a solid game.

And I’m not bashing on your thoughts either, I think it’s great that you had an idea and you wanted to share with the community. In retrospect I too think it would be cool, but as it stands and the way the series has gone thus far. I would be more than enamored than to have just a game with a fully balanced sandbox that is simple yet works fantastically. Something that I can rely on, that when I play it I don’t have to worry about any non-sense that isn’t part of the essential Halo formula.

However, I do think that someone like you could appreciate if the player models showed more detail though. Like if you wade through a plasma nade your armor will look a little charred or smoky at some points, maybe bullet holes here and there or something, a little interactivity you know?

Just remember, the more they focus on doing stuff like that, chances are they’ll have to snip something elsewhere.

Just saying… I think there are enough threads debating the things that will/would make a solid game - many of which I have contributed to.

This thread is pretty much just for fun as it will probably never, ever happen.

I highly doubt thy could do a lot of this stuff. But If they could have bullet holes, plasma burns, scratched paint and blood stained armor, that would be amazing. But it would be better and make more sense if you could get this stuff as you play the game.

I know spartan armor is really thick and in official cannon blood would probably not make it out of the armor but to make the game look cooler we should have it. Besides spartans spray blood from getting shot in the game anyway.

Considering some parents might be concerned, it could be turned off.

Ha I was replaying Halo 3 with some friends earlier and was thinkin how much I miss the flashlight. Im for a flashlight again, I used it alot more than the nightvision in Reach, ODST my visor was on alot though i liked that one.

Id love to see this

I think it’d be interesting to see how it turns out.

That would be pretty cool.

I agree. However I think that overall you really shouldnt need to turn anything on, except maaaaybe the flashlight for… vents and very, very dark places.

I would like this if it didn’t take memory from the game for things that really need it.
