Can 343 just give a simple answer of when to expect an announcement for the next/final content update! As you all know a while back I made a speculation as to when we can expect an announcement using the previously set time line from the last few updates. As we all saw that ended up being, well, wrong. So then I thought, ok maybe the first week of April. That failed so then I’m like, ok second week without fail. Now I’m just stressed and not able to wait for 343 to make a damn announcement! I know they were focused on the HWC but they could’ve give a a sentence saying “an announcement for the final update will come in the coming week” or soon!
Don’t worry they will probably say something soon, maybe before e3, or after, who knows.

They better bring their -Yoinking!- A game with this update with the amount of time we are all waiting for the next update!

I’m sure they will. Though you got to remember they have other projects going on in the pipeline. So the team working on H5 at the moment is probably much smaller than it was when the game first launched.
E3 will probably be the place of reveal, if there is INDEED another update… If H3A isn’t a thing, a larger content update to account for its non-existence is the next best/logical move, and a way to send H5 off with a bang.
Just speculation…

I don’t think e3 is gonna be the place to announce the update because: a) the focus is gonna about giving a teaser to halo 6 b) they will probably announce the first story dlc for hw2
Once (or more accurately “If”) this update does happen, I’m finally gonna get all the new REQ items and buy all the packs I can until I run out of points (already unlocked everything). Have always had a couple hundred thousand spare just in case, but now that new content seems to be drying up there’s no point in just saving points unnecessarily. At least it’ll be fun to have a one last massive REQ pack opening hoorah!

I know what you mean. Just spent 200k, and still have over 1.2m I have lots of everything so no need to spend.

I hear ya. If thie final update doesn’t add/fix everything wrong with Halo 5, basically for custom game settings and weapon tweaking, then people are gonna feel like they were cheated with this game. I’m already set on NOT getting Halo 6 because of how Halo 5 was advertised and treated.
If all this time is going into halo 6, i’ll be glad they have such a hiatus.
Halo 5 needs to stand on its legs, the updates have to stop eventually to make room for halo 6.
Will H5 get the Halo MCC treatment now?
343 have finished their planned updates last year. Everything we got after that is pretty much extra. I don’t think 343 has to tell us anything
I believe that after the release of Anvil’s Legacy, they confirmed that there would be two more major content updates. We’ve already gotten one of them
(Monitor’s Bounty), and of course, Gamecheat13 has been poking around in the game files and found some yet unused, but fully programmed stuff. So, chances are, they’re going to make it extra special since it’s allegedly going to be the last content update. If my suspicions are correct, we’ll probably get a teaser in this week’s community update.

Not like we can do anything about it if they don’t.
They have indeed finished their planned updates, however as shown in gamecheats youtube videos, there are still weapons and such in the game that should have an update for them. SO far everything that he had shown previously that was incomplete (Hannibal wasp, ONI wasp, Reach nade launcher) have all been added. I think we will get one more update before e3 to tie up Halo 5, before halo 6 is teased/announced (or whatever else the next halo will be called) as well as the Halo wars 2 story expansion/dlc we know is coming.
They better announce something soon, or else there won’t be enough people around to play the -Yoink!- thing. Halo 5 is dropping farther down the most played list pretty steadily as of late, and with no new content to tide people over it will only continue to fall.

After anvil’s legacy they confirmed that there would be two more major content update. One being Monitor’s Bounty and the last one is still in the air.

Play classic customs in Halo 5 (which is oddly fun) play the original Halo 3 and or Reach (cringes because that game is not “classic”) and…play MCC (it does for the most part work).

How is that related to the topic at hand? If you really think an update celebrating Halo 3 will actually give you a classic experience then you will be sorely mistaken.
And H3A is not happening either so yeah your only options really are to play MCC or play Halo 3 on the 360.
As for the topic at hand, they are probably making us wait so long for this update because if it is indeed the last update for Halo 5, that means there will be no new content and if we get it later down the line, it’ll help Halo 5 last a little longer and not grow as stale while Halo 6 approaches.
Most games finish up their DLC run a year or so after the game released but they also usually have three map packs you need to pay for. With Halo 5 doing free monthly updates, the players begin to find themselves wanting more content shortly after new content was released. It becomes hard to be patient and enjoy the content you’ve just received when you know there’s more coming very soon!
