ok, that was admittedly satisfying

So I just had my first match where my teammate left as soon as it began. At first I was just like: “screw it, I’m going to lose anyway” and just started racking up nearby bases and resources to prepare for the inevitable attack since it was 2v1.

But they never came.
In about ten minutes of prep time I had taken four bases and they only focused on getting two of the points.
So after I realized I had enough points to start making a Gauss hog army, I sent my beginning group out as sacrifice to take over some points, but I’ll be -Yoink!-, they managed to sneak away with three of the points before the enemy team caught up with them.
By then, my hog army was ready and I zerg rushed the remaining control points, cutting them off (before I began they already had me at around 50%) and I managed to hold them back with what felt like an unending army of gauss hogs and wolverines.
It eventually hit the point where I had 4 points and they had 1 after a brief back-and-forth and it was about 10% to 13% (in my favor) so I scavenged what I had and threw everything at one their main bases and with the time it took for them to kill all of my units, game over: I won with only about 11% of my ticket counter. Against two players. On my own. And I suck at RTS’.

This is the kind of tactical shenanigans I expect from Halo Wars and it felt good.

haha that’s pretty epic, can’t wait to try it out after work.

You lost me at ‘zerg rushed’ but well done on winning!

Google: Starcraft

The zerg are an alien race in that series of RTS players who choose the zerg are known to rush their opponents. Its an old gaming trope, zerg forces are cheap to produce and numerous.

This. Cheap tactic at times, but gauss hogs are effective when in groups…of dozens.
