But I am a little irked ( irked is probably not the right word, more like its distracting) by how much space is taken up in the HUD. I understand the game is still in development and subject to change, but has anyone heard if the HUD will be customizable or if the points/ret/damage indicator, will take up less space in the HUD?
Could anyone with recent Hands On experience, shine some light as to if it is as distracting as it is in videos? I know that at times Low rez videos can be missleading.

People who played it said they didn’t really notice it that much while playing. It sticks out in gameplay videos, but apparently playing it is better.
I like it more than Reach’s system, where the message saying headshot takes up half the screen.

would be great if it was true, but lets be honest with our selves, how many rumors have we heard, panned out to be true? And how many of them have turned out to be people miss reading, selective hearing, or wishful thinking? VGAs, 1/17, or CES anyone?

To be honest, after watching lots of video from Halo 4 matches like the 5v5 LIVE streams from RTX, the kill messages aren’t that noticeable to me, but then again, I’m also a PC gamer, and if I can ignore a ton of text chat from annoying kids in a PC game, like Halo PC, then getting a ton of messages that say “so and so killed Timmy with a headshot” or “You splattered Kenny”, are easy to ignore.
And Trust me, the kill feed in Halo 4’s MP is less annoying that getting a message that’s the same size, that stretches across the screen that says
“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO”

Yes, I’m definitely getting an HD. I’m stuck choosing brands. This way when I play Halo 4 I will be able to watch it in the best format possible.

Just remember that bigger isn’t always better when it comes to using a TV for games. I’m afraid I don’t have the most expansive experience with the assorted companies, so I wont bother advising you on that. But for size I’d recommend something around 26-30 something inches in width.

I’ve never had it go past the distance of my motion tracker… I didn’t even realise they came up until recently.
Why make such a big deal out of nothing? Buy a bigger television if you’re worried.

I’ve a 15 year old SD tv as well, the text still doesn’t go past my motion sensor though. 
I want to get a new one before Halo 4 comes out, but it will cost me €500,-

That’s easy to say, but upwards of $500 is not something everyone has. Regardless I’m saving up.

Same here, I’m hoping to catch one on sale. I’m taking the release of Halo 4 very seriously and am trying to save up for a new tv.
This is why I have posted this topic. I also have an old TV that has issues with games that have been optimized for HD. There is also no way I will replace it before H4. 
In fact I don’t even know how they got it in the house in the first place, they might have built the house around it for all I know, it was here when I moved in.
Does anyone know what setups they have been playing on at the events?
