Ok I’m not a tech guy, but I have some theories regarding this and the future of xbox. 343i confirmed that Halo Infinite is coming this generation so we have that. And they were blatant enough to say that the reveal trailer is an engine demonstration, but from my experience 80-90% of the time these engine demonstrations turn out to be the same (or closer) in the final product. 343i also clearly stated here that “The E3 demo showcases some of the exciting potential of this technology – everything you see is running in-engine. We still have a long way to go until we ship the game, so things will certainly evolve between now and the release of Halo Infinite, though the engine demo is a clear indication of the direction we are heading with our next game and a great snapshot of where our tech is right now.” So there is a really high chance that they are gonna try to make the final product look like this. Now let’s just say that the final game will look 90% like this, ok, this thing is still way too detailed for even the One X. Now this little theory of my doesn’t end there. It’s kinda interesting that in the same press conference that they announced Halo 6 (now known as Halo Infinite) that also annouced that they are in the process of making the next Xbox. Now bare with me because this is where it gets interesting. Since Phil Spencer said that they don’t want to think of making generations, basically ending next-gen for them, and with their huge focus on playing everything on the Xbox, could it be that the next Xbox is an even bigger update and that Halo Infinite will launch along side the new console to show how powerful the machine is? Now I know this is a huge stretch and this is something that I don’t advise 343i in doing because there’s a high chance that the next Xbox is not launching in 2019 but who knows anything could happen.
I think Scarlet will be another upgraded XB1 iteration and HI might launch along side it in 2020. Hopefully the engine is easily scalable so we can have an amazing looking game on Scarlet and then the other two versions will be down graded.
