This mechanic COMPLETELY breaks map control, I might even say it makes Halo just a COD in space.

i agree. there needs to be a balance. have weapons on the map (even dmrs and BR’s, I’m always running out of ammo in this game) and nerf the ordnance. ordnance wouldn’t be so bad if it didn’t include so many power weapons. infinity slayer just feels like a chore.
Quite simply, if you don’t like it, play a playlist without it. If everyone felt the same and did that, 343 would see it and make plans to adjust the playlist accordingly. But if you are still playing it and just coming to the forums to cry about it, then you are shooting your own stance in the foot.
And I’m curious what you mean by map control. Do you mean it takes away people camping weapon spawns? Because then you’d have to get rid of the random on map spawns as well, and probably PV so you can camp power weapons to you hearts content. Except it sounds like terrible game design. Or did you mean locking a team in their spawn point? Because that can be done rather easily if you have a good enough team. Doesn’t matter if a person can get rockets, spartan laser, or a SAW if you team is working together and can shut a person down before they can use it. But if you get killed by someone with a power weapon because you are running around with your head up your -Yoink-, then it is your own damn fault.
