After reading the details about the Arena update and Warzone update, I will admit that I’m feeling some anticipation that I haven’t felt in awhile for Halo 5. Thank you for putting a bit more stake into the social aspects of Halo 5 (still hoping for separate stat tracking, though). This update sounds like it’s going to breath new life into Halo 5’s multiplayer.
If it turns out to be as much a success as I hope, I might even toss $9.99 your way to “voice” my appreciation*, 343i.
*Voicing appreciation subject to change.
I agree completely. Before the details of this update, I was completely done with 343i, Halo 5 and the future games put out by the company. But now? 343i has shown to me that they are willing to listen and give us what we want, a lot of which is included in this update. Is it enough to make up for their mistakes? No, and the story is still quite terrible. But now… I’m considering possibly buying Halo 6. Maybe. And I’ll definitely be playing Halo 5 again.

This update hasn’t changed my plans for Halo 6; I’m still not preordering, and I’m still waiting for reviews/will rent before buying. However, this update is substantial and shows care for the community, both the competitive side and the social side. It makes me want to dive back into Halo 5 with a gusto I haven’t felt since, well, launch honestly.
This update, from what it seems, is fixing what was broken and not that enjoyable. As for what Hotrod192 said, yes, the story wasn’t that great, but sadly, they can’t “fix” the story. The best they can do is blow us out of the water from Halo 6’s campaign. And as for Halo 6 to avoid the “should’ve been at launch” arguments, Halo 6 just simply needs to not be rushed. If it has to be delayed for years, I’ll take it. I’m not sure if people agree on that, but I think that Halo 5 being rushed was one of the main problems.

I can agree with that on the whole, though there are some specific things that have been generally unenjoyable that aren’t changing (Tankworld is still in Action Sack, for instance; expect the rampant quitting to continue). Certainly though, this update sounds like it’s going to do much good for the game.

Oh, I’m not pre-ordering either. My mind has changed from “there’s no way that I’m buying Halo 6” to “maybe I’ll consider it, if it proves to be good”. 343i has disappointed me 3 times in a row, I won’t let that happen a 4th time.
