Ok Im out of ideas. I want to learn forge

So, I want to know how to build in forge BUETIMUS-ly. Anybody know how? Pre-X-mas Newb.

halo 5 forge can be hard to figure out but when you got the basics of moving objects and scirpting your on a roll, later I’ll check forge and I may make a list of basic scirpt options.

Set a rotational snap to rotate your objects more precisely. Also, use of magnets and coordinates make structures look a little less thrown together, and neaten their placement up. Spawn a few flat walls or blocks in, rotate them for a little while, and put something simple together to familiarize yourself with the controls.

Scripting is a whole other ball park, so before you dive into doing any heavy scripting, try just setting a wall down, and attempt making it move. There are a ton of YouTube tutorials that offer insight on basic scripting, such as making things move, having things spawn, etc. Just try to have patience with Forge in Halo 5. It is hands down the best iteration of Forge Halo has ever seen, but it can also be the toughest to tackle initially. Good luck!

Like most artistic endeavors, forge is about 5% inspiration and 95% percent perspiration. To put it another way, a good idea is useful, but what you really need is technique and patience. And thanks to customs we finally have a way to use the things we build other than trying to get the insular group at forgehub to take notice of all the ways your map doesn’t conform to traditional gameplay standards. So there’s that.

Oh, and forget about scripting. Other than basics like doors that open and close, scripting is pure flash and I’m not sure there’s much use at this point in learning how it all works since I’m 110% positive that Halo 6 will bring an easier, better scripting method.

He’s asking how to operate. He’s a newb, and he wants to not get sweaty over moving a ramp.

Hmmmm. I did not get that at all. If that’s true then what does it mean? It takes half an hour to learn how to move things in forge. I wouldn’t call that a sweat bath. After that it still takes a lot of hours to make a good map and nothing on earth can change that. It’s an immutable law of forging. There are shortcuts like grouping and welding and prefab-ing, but those things are pretty self-explanatory and don’t take even five minutes to learn. So what’s he really asking then???

I consider myself a very experienced Halo player. I used to be able to forge OK in previous titles. H5 forge is very complex and has a high learning curve. But from what I have seen forged in H5 it has to be the best forge because what some of the top forgers are making is quite awesome. Best advice I can give is maybe search YouTube for H5 how to forge videos.
