Which is more Balanced
Jet packs or sprint

And add this If you had to have one or the other which would you have in halo 4

And im not adding a none option because i want to know the different between the two.

Yeah some one is try to tell me Jetpack is more balanced then sprint
I just dont agree and i think from what i have hear all over the internet Jetpack is on par with armorlock and far less balanced then sprint.

Dont agree Jet pack isn;t returning IMO
The screen shot show muliple thing and there say the disign in the top Left is the jet pack but then why does it say grenadier right next to it and why does it have what looks like a grenade emblem bellow that and in the grenades slot has three frags

What? Which is more balanced? They’re completely different.

Sprint is more useful than Jetpack, so Sprint is more over powered if that’s what you’re wondering.

Where is the ‘NONE’ option?.. They are both unbalanced IMO.

IM wanting to know which people would prefer if they had to have one in halo 4 I understand people don’t want them But i want to know between the two which they prefer.

I saw your argument with this “someone” in the other thread. I signed in to give you my insight.

In MLG even skilled players easily go negative only two people on an MLG team will probably go positive each game. When you have Jetpack in MLG you are trading Sprint for a quick way up to a ramp, or into the enemy base or up on top mid. It is quick, you are probably only going to use it once for 3 seconds before the other team kills you and now you respawn and have sprint again. In no way does this break balance in an MLG environment.

Sprint on the other hand, breaks game-play even at an MLG environment. The core game setting in Reach were made to accommodate Sprint. This means you have lower base speed as well as a heavy amount of movement acceleration. This kills map flow as well as individual encounters. Kill times are slowed and less skill is being employed because crouching is more optimal than strafing in Reach.

OT: I would like a neither option.

Just because sprint is more balanced than Jet pack doesn’t mean it’s good for gameplay.

Depends. The easy answer seems to be sprint, but they all balance as long as that is the current Armor Ability being used at all times.

The reason sprint is the obvious answer is, well, it’s not game breaking to Halo’s current multiplayer system. Jetpack on the other hand, ruins the following aspects;

  • Map Height - Map Flow - Basically Walls
    I am however completely fine with sprint being the only armor ability that player’s can begin with in a matchmaking game and the jetpack being a weapon pickup. Other than that, yes, they both do contribute negatively to Halo’s overall gameplay.

Even in Reach the names of the loadouts didn’t exactly match their AA’s. Plus, every Spartan model has a jetpack on their back. I’d say it’s official.

I actually like sprint it was a major improvement ive always hated how slow these supposed “super soldiers” were. Its just a part of gameplay now just adjust to it, sprint is a good thing its not overpowered or anything its not like you can sprint and shoot at the same time. Jet pack isnt too bad but its still my least favorite, people tend to use it to get to places they cant normally get and use precision weapons to spawn kill and the like. I hate snipers who hang back up on the cliff on hemorrhage, so cheap. Sprint is a nice way to get out of a sticky situation you were screwed in normally and is incredibly important to objective based game play like invasion where you are trying to defend objectives.

There not Jetpacks the Thrusters For ZERO-G only that mean if there’s Gravity like normal that they would be able to add enough thrust to push a spartan who weighs a good __tons
Where as in ZERO-G environments there is absolutely no resistance so a minimal thrust to move a __ton spartan.

That’s exactly how i felt even since halo 2 i was like this is a simple mechanic why is it not in halo, then halo 3 teaser came out and i was like Yes finally, And i wasn’t even the only one i remember hearing the same thing all over the internet. What ruined Sprint (the idea Atleast) was reach because Bungie failed to implement certain mechanics correctly with out hindering game play, Im not say spring as it is in reach is the way it need to be, But if it is tweak heavily and balanced it could be fixed to work in Halo 4 that just IMHO.

it depends on what map your playing, if your on sword base jet pack becomes a very useful tool but sprint becomes limited. however if your playing asylum, jet pack looses its ability to move you around the map and sprint becomes the better choice because its mostly a level playing field.

You shouldn’t spawn with them. Everyone should start out the same off spawn. That is Halo
