wrong, its liking it because of its concepts, not because it is simply there and other people like it.

I have enjoyed every halo game (for different reasons), and thus I will be buying and enjoying Halo 4. I am fairly confident that I will get many hours of fun out of it, regardless of what new changes they decide to implement. In my opinion, that makes me a fan of the halo series.
All I know is according to this community, anyone who played Halo since C.E. is a “true fan”.

WHAT? I can be a fan of anything I want for any reason.

anyone who likes the concept of halo ce is a true fan.

But they already told us it is and it will still play just like other Halo games.

you can THINK that.
MakeLoveNotWar:
you cant believe things just because someone told you it. You have to think independently.
Your either a fan of Halo or a member of the cult of 343
Fan of Halo: - Accepts that these changes are crap
Cult of 343: - Almost worships 343 with there overzealous attitude
I like Halo!

You’re the one assuming I’m a fan of Halo just because of the title and that it has Master Chief in it. You’re the one who’s stupid enough to make up something about someone else based on nothing.
I’m a fan of Halo because that is what I chose to be. There is no clear definition of what makes Halo “Halo”. What makes Halo “Halo” is as complex as any other fictional universe filled with 100,000+ years of history, characters, and technology.

So why would you be a fan of something, if not for its unique properties, or at least it’s properties that you like?
I mean, what did you like about Halo multiplayer?
lol What a stupid thread.
I may not be a “True” Halo fan by this forums standards since I started with Halo 3, but I loved Halo 3 and have bought every game since. I was only 9 when CE came out and I lived in a strict household, I wasnt even allowed to play T games back then
Why am I not a true fan just because I was late to the party? Just because I’ve only loved it for 5 years means I don’t love it enough to matter?
I don’t like every single last thing I’m hearing about this game. However, thats true about every god -Yoink!- game that’s ever come out. Overall I think the game sounds amazing. I will buy it and enjoy it. If you can’t/won’t buy it that’s your problem. People need to quit thinking that just because they played CE means they should be the sole party tailored to.
Deal with it or go through with your threats and don’t buy it.

But in order to be a fan, you liked its original concept, right? either its story, or its gameplay. But people who will play it because they blindly worship the developers and will buy it because it says “halo” in the title are not fans, they are bandwagoners.

For you, maybe.
For me, Halo is not about everyone starting off the same. This is true to Halo 1, 2 and 3, but not Reach. And I still consider Reach one of the Halo games. Why? Because of how it plays.
The way you handle your weapon, the way you move through the enviorments. Anyone can have an entirely different opinion to what the core in Halo is, and why that person is a fan of it. There are no rules.
Also, to everyone saying it will be like CoD in space: It will not, never ever. Call of Duty 2 will have more in common with Black Ops 2 than Halo 4 will. Why? Not because it’s Call of Duty, but because it playes like Call of Duty, even though many mechanics are different. Halo will never play like CoD even if there simular aspects. It will never feel like playing CoD, it will still play like a Halo game. As did Reach, which is why I enjoy a lot even though many other Halo fans don’t.

No. the core of halo was defined in its first game, halo CE. sequels are supposed to improve it if there are major problems, and ADD to it. Not change it.
All this hate on Halo 4, Reach and people that like change. If they made Halo the EXACT same way as Halo 1 from 2001 until now, how many people would be left playing it? Nobody. If Halo just stayed the EXACT same every game, it would sell nothing.
Now OP, no one can decide WHO is a “true fan” or not. A true fan is someone who likes a series for what it is and what it will become. they will accept the change that is coming, and not be a (no offense) whiny little -Yoink- about it. The first Halo game that i played was Reach. Since then i have owned Halo 3, ODST, and Anniversary, and i loved all of them. I consider myself a fan of the series, because i like everything about halo. the story, the gameplay, and the characters. i will accept the changes for halo 4, because i am curious to see how they will be implemented.

true fans welcome change, but they dont like it when the foundation of their like for the concepts is uprooted and destroyed. as i said in the OP.
Im not being a whiny -Yoink-, im just tired of people saying “im buy halo 4 because even though it looks bad its a halo game, that makes me a true fan”
Meh A true halo fan sticks with you thick and thin provides critizism, positive, and negative feedback in a respectfull manner. A true halo fan has been playing snice the halo ce XBconnect/Gamespy days and stuck with it all the way to this point and will continue to do so because all of us here now are halo fans. Don’t divide yourselfs from one and other nuff said.

Yea, but you cant just split up a fanbase because of people saying “im going to buy Halo 4 because it’s Halo” and you cant say it looks bad. We’ve had VERRRRY insignificant glimpses into the game, so because they’re adding new stuff to the game you think that the core gameplay is gone. yea they’ve added perks, but they most likely make you more vulnerable to SOMETHING. yea, they’ve added custom loadouts, but you cant start with power weapons. that doesnt really change the gameplay. it just adds more skill into the mix. most of the time when i play a game on Reach or Halo 3, i just see people run in spraying bullets, and hoping that their so called “skill” will come in handy. Halo 4 is just going to make players play with a more strategic and tactical mind set than before. its not getting rid of the “Core” gameplay, its adding to it.
