ok guys, i need some networking advice

can someone plz tell me how to put two xboxes on the same modem and not have any problems with the connection.me and my friends try to have sessions with two xboxes so 4 people can play on two tv’s. i have a good cable internet connection and never lag wen its just one xbox. but two xboxes it seems always screws our connection up. i mean we can find games but never host any matches and this gets frustrating whenit seems like u shoot somebody ten times and still dont die. i usually have one xbox hardlined to my modem and the other one wireless. we always have to manually put ip address into one xbox thru the laptop. do i need a router to go along with my wireless modem to fix this or is there something else i can do. btw my internet connection is pretty good. someone plz help. o yeah jetpack has ruineed halo. someone plz help, i beg u

Enable UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) on your router. It may be in the Advanced tab.

To get to your router’s settings page use a computer that is also attached to the router, open a browser and type in 192.168.1.1

Enable UPnP on both xboxs. Do not manually enter your IP address.

After this is done use the Test Network Connection option in the xbox dashboard menu.

Also check in Halo Reach to see that your NAT type is open.

Can you post your hardware brand and model?

Setting a static IP via the 360 or router itself often breaks UPnP so remove any static IP settings and leave IP settings on auto/dynamic.

thanx u guys. i have made a few changes and i think it will help hopefully. the only thing is i called my modem tech support and my modem doesnt have an option for upnp, and it has a router built into the modem. he also told me that i may need a hub so we can both directly hard line into my modem

A hub will not enable UPnP, the only way to get open NATs on two 360s is by UPnP so you will have to get a new modem/router that supports UPnP or bridge your current modem/router and buy a UPnP router.
