So I have noticed that there are a lot of different nameplates that people have that are not in list of nameplates you can look at. I see people with a nameplate of a Halo 5 guardian, and I just saw someone with a nameplate that is an image from a book cover. I love the nameplate system in the MCC so I like to collect as many as possible but I have no idea how to get some of these. Does anyone know how to get some of the hidden unlisted ones?
If you head on over to Halopedia and search for Nameplate, there is a complete list of nameplates for the Collection including how to obtain them (not all are obtainable, however).

I am a collector myself. I got the halo 5 guardian one, but I honestly can’t remember how lol
On halopedia it says to just complete the Halo 5 campaign. I have done that but on a different account. You can get nameplates as well for completing the halo wars DE and 2 campaigns in the MCC. I might go the Halo Wars 2 first because the Banished symbol is just too good.

Yeah, some are really easy to get like, “Complete this game.” or “Get this achievement.” or “Purchase with a Season Point or two.”
Then there are the Grassroots ones which you have to be lucky to get (I’ve never bothered because I have had terrible luck just trying to get the Ice Unicorn nameplate). But the great thing is that there are so many nameplates that you are always spoilt for choice.

No need to worry about this - all of the nameplates mean nothing at all other than the LASO ones. Even so, if an opponent is using one of those it has no bearing upon their multiplayer skill. Nameplates can safely be ignored
What does the LASO one mean?
LASO nameplates are for completing titles Legendary All Skulls On… Those are without a doubt the toughest ones to get. Then probably the ones for doing Legendary campaigns in under three hours total time. I wouldn’t go as far as nameplates should/can be ignored. If they mean something to you that is all that matters so go for them if you want too. I am going for getting to Tour 10 in the xp system, sure it doesn’t mean much other than I played a lot of MCC but it’s what I want to do, I am on tour 9. But anyways… I got a lot of the nameplates, I am using the ugly Christmas sweater one now for Christmas, it was given away for the holiday season one year. I won’t ever get the LASO or under 3 hour Legendary runs as I don’t need that stress in my life…hahaha …
I feel you on the stress for the laso and under 3 hours achievements. I only managed to get the under 3 hour achievement for Reach because I knew that campaign like the back of my hand
Yeah but the nameplate means and does just about as much as any other one, dunno why the troll feels the need to distinguish it.
It could mean you’re that good at the game… Or just mindless enough to have cheesed through LASO

Of course they can be ignored as they do absolutely nothing. If you choose to use certain unlockable ones, sure, that will let other players know(if they even happen to notice which is doubtful) that you have the skill and patience required to actually obtain them like the laso ones I mentioned and also the ones granted by completing the various games on legendary in under 3 hours. Other than that, they’re like all of the armor and completely and utterly useless. Unlocking those campaign-oriented nameplates and using them does not necessarily equate to superior skill in multiplayer.
