I was just watching the Halo 3 cutscenes and i Realized once more just how Epic halo is !! A massive story of Books,Anime and of course Games most notably the first trilogy . To think that this already massive story will double with The Reclaimer trilogy It is mind blowing !!. If Halo 4 matches the Epicness of Halo 3 Halo 4 will be truely Epic .People on this Forum talk about Multiplayer ,FirefighT,BR,DMR,Bloom no bloom . All that is important but Halo is a story . It has been a story since Combat evolved. For over a Decade the story has one if not the most important and loved part of Halo . Halo 4 must and will contiue this great story by returning Halo to its roots Of you versus the universe . [Easy odds for chief] Halo 4 story will remind people why they fell in love with the story in the first place . Just like Halo ce Grabbed your intrest . Halo 4 will grab it and expand it once more . What a truly epic story we have in Halo !
I wish I had your optimism.
I know that “epic” is one of the most overused words in modern times, but I really do believe that no game has ever earned the title as thoroughly as Halo 3. Unfortunately, with the recent changes to the lore, I don’t think we’ll ever see such a perfect intersection of story, gameplay, and atmosphere in any of the Halo titles to come. I am, however, anxious to be proven wrong.

> I agree i wish they would not change the story . as long as they do not change nothing major i am okey .T am kind of okey if they change small things if it helps build The second part of the "Epic story ". Long live the Halo story .
I agree. I play Halo for the story and everything else comes later.
I believe Halo 4 story wise will be brilliant, but may not carry the same magic as the original trilogy…
As far as multiplayer goes, I am slightly worried untill I have an idea of what direction they are going.
I don’t think i have this much of an attachment to another game or movie or any form of media as halo. The story is epic, and the atmosphere is just as epic. The music, the memories, the experience, the feeling you get when you listen to that monk chant, it’s amazingly classic.
I think that’s the biggest thing halo has going for it, even just staying in the menus is pleasing.
I agree so much. The Halo story was the thing that got me into XBOX Live. Y’know, one Christmas I was thinking "Hey, lets try this game that everybody talks about so much."Then I started playing the campaign. At first I was like “Eh, what the hell is this?” (that was my first reaction to Arbiter, and now he’s one of my favorite characters) When I finished the game, I thought it was the best game with the best story ever. Then I wanted to play Halo online so I bought a Gold membership and stuff and since then I’m an active XBOX gamer.

I agree i play Rach and dont get me wrong i like Reach but it’s menu just was not as epic . But just the menu music of each game of the first trilogy sends chills through me . Each game of the trilogy has a slightly different but Great feal to them . CE Your lost , Halo 2 much more is on the line , Halo 3 the fate of the Galexy is on you . May the great story coninue .

I am exactly the same way . Multiplayer is fun but story always is first in my mind .
Oh, the story is what I am most excited for in Halo 4. The books that have been coming out recently have really set up the scene for a truly epic story. ALIEN INVADER X, do you read the books?

For me playing Halo is always about the story, but yet I don’t want to contribute any ideas towards the development of it because Halo has this vast universe and I want to experience it and not tell it. if you know what I mean.

I have read some of the books but i have learned the magarity of the Halo story through The games,The halo ensyclopiedia ,and even game manual . I have a pretty good understanding of the halo story the only place i am kind of dry is the new books Glasslands and primourdium . I have learned a lot of them though from reading spoilers people have posted on these forums . Randoom123 do you read the books ?
> Halo 3? Epic story? Did we play the same Halo 3?
Halo 3 was a truely epic story ending what it’s two forunners had past to it. I find halo 3 did a great way of telling the Halo story but come to think of it sod did the entire first trilogy .

I have a feeling Halo 4 will be pretty epic.
Halo 3 was not all that epic in comparison to Halo 2.
@ Seeeyeare: I’m sorry. But if you think Halo can be summarized by: Discover a Halo, destroy it.
Then you are extremely foolish. The objective of Master Chief has nothing to do with the plot of the series. It’s all the crazy stuff happening around him. The UNSC/Covenant war, the Forerunner/Flood mystery. The Covenant Schism. And the intertwining interactions of characters such as Keyes, Foehammer, Cortana, the Arbiter, Lord Hood, Johnson, and Miranda.
Also, the first Halo never gets lit n00b.

If I recall correctly, the only Halo we ever lit was the one at the end of Halo 3.

Well, Delta Halo, in Halo 2 was lit. But not by the player, and it was stopped by Miranda, Johnson, and the Arbiter before it activated.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.
This is totally more accurate to Halo’s lore. The only place that it is strictly about Master Chief’s journey is in Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 3. Everything else has at least a tinge of “fringe fiction”, even if Master Chief is in it. For example, First Strike features the exploits of Red Team on Reach before Master Chief pulled them out. The Flood features the entire new sections about the marines on Halo. The Fall of Reach features the upbringing of the Spartans. Halo 2 features the Arbiter’s extermination of the “heretic” and the beginning of the downfall of the Covenant. The universe is definitely not about the Master Chief - he is just very central in some of the vital events of it.
