Oh man guys

I was just playing Halo 4 campaign with my son earlier, and it just reminded me of how all that character development and storytelling was essentially scrapped in Halo 5 (not to mention split screen but that’s another topic).
I mean, Cortana’s rampancy was real, Chief’s motivations were real, heck the Didact even. We weren’t even on a level where we encountered him in the story yet, but man you could just feel his presence there behind the scenes. He even had his own theme song for crying out loud, which I went and listened to right after. Just…man. Such a bummer to have so much good stuff to work with and pretty much just toss it for a piece of crap story in Halo 5.
I’ve made a couple topics on this, but I’ve mainly just been playing MP since then because I can’t stand the story and what was done to these characters. But playing Halo 4 today just brought all these old feelings back.
There’s really no point to this topic, just had to get it out there.

If only they didn’t rewrite the story 3 times into what we have today.

For real tho

Now that the mon the dlc is done, maybe they can flesh out some story DLC to piece the campaign back together. I’d pay for that.

Supposedly microsoft wasn’t happy with the direction the story was going.

I was playing through MCC with my wife before Halo 5 was released, but after we heard split screen was removed she stopped. It’s a shame though that I can’t play Halo 5 with either of them because split screen was removed. And I’m definitely not buying a whole new system so we can play online together. That’s just silly, especially with what looks like hardware turnover rates decreasing too.
I hope you are able to play with him one day, and that it would even be possible in the next installment of halo, hopefully. It really is so much better playing with someone who is right next to you.

My Dad’s been at the Walmart line for 16 years now…

It’s fine, at the start of H6 Chief will wake up on the Infinity and Cortana will still be dead.

So far we have a weird thing going on with 343I. In halo 4 the campaign was great and gave us that halo ce feeling of being stuck in an alien world with new enemies, but had sub par multiplayer. Now in halo 5 we have a really sub par campaign and an amazing multiplayer, one of the best since halo 3. Now lets hope they make the campaign and multiplayer great…or it could be the opposite and they could mess up on both…lets hope not.
