Plasma Pistol. Underpowered as a standalone weapon. Useful in situations where you need to halt a moving vehicle, or taking out the shields of an enemy player. Usually partnered with a shot from a primary weapon (google “noob combo”). Still useless when used alone.
What if you need to complete a series of commendations requiring Plasma Pistol kills? What if, for the dumbest reason, EMP blasts or melees with the weapon don’t count as “kills” with the weapon, rendering themselves useless when trying to complete a commendation?
I need to reach and complete the Plasma Pistol Master commendation. I know there’s over 1,000 kills required, but how am I supposed to do that with the Plasma Pistol? I mean, it was bad enough in past Halo games that people decided to make fun of the gun. But in Halo 4? It’s a tragedy.
Yes, the noob combo is cheap as heaven and I have no problem with the balancing on that. But to get kills with the pistol alone?
This thread is less of me trying to suggest a buff (though it’s preferable), and more of me asking for some tricks and pro tips on how to score with this. I mean, it’s a holiday miracle just to get a kill with it for me.
How does one simply kill with the Plasma Pistol? What playlist would be most beneficial (seeing as FFA Throwback’s outted by 343i)?
I somehow got 8 kills in one match with it once…I believe it takes 7 shots after the shields are down to kill. I rarely get a kill with the overcharged blast. I think it’s easiest on Regicide, just go in and finish the guy that just won a 1v1 battle with someone else. But yes I agree, it’s very difficult. I would keep trying for it, but since it’s so easy to boost and get it, it’s less impressive when you get it. I wanted to get the Recon 2.0 armor, but seeing as how hard it is to get Plasma Pistol kills, and the fact that kids just boost to get it is discouraging.

Nope not if you know what you’re doing or as long as all the players are playing, you can basically set up a game with buddys to only run around with plasma pistols if all of them are up for it.

yes if you do it right, but most of the time you will get a random who will report you
