> - BR: not a bad starting weapon, RoF is slower than the DMR/Carbine but it’s easier to hit shots close up than the DMR/Carbine. My guess is it has slightly more aim assist, but who knows. This is the weapon for the run and gun in your face player.
I’ve had worries about the BR being weaker (still HOPE it ends up being a 4 shot), but this quote here puts most of my worries to rest.
When I read this, this is how I play. And this will be my gun.
If the BR was a 4sk it would be OP, but since it is a bit weaker it has 1 good advantage. The BR is easier to get kills up close while the DMR/Carbine are meant for long ranges.
I don’t care what it “looks” like, the facts are that the kill time for the BR makes it absolutely useless compared to the Carbine and DMR at every range. It has spread, recoil, and doesn’t zoom in as far as the DMR. It’s garbage.

Lol, that is not proof at all. The BR has to be balanced against other weapons in the sandbox you know. They don’t want the BR to turn into the “one gun that rules all” again like in previous Halos. Now with the DMR and BR coexisting with each other, balance means more than anything at this point.
I’ll still be using the BR but for people to say it will be utterly useless is just plain silly.

How is it balanced? It has multiple weaknesses against other utility weapons and it has no benefits. If the BR had a slower rate of fire but it was a 4SK, then it could compete. Right now, there are no benefits to using the BR. Good players will be able to use the DMR and carbine in close range, so the BR will lose even there.
The BR isn’t remotely close to ruling all the weapons. It’s outclassed by everything.
