So I was playing breakout, I was diamond 3 and my internet dropped. I reconnected and got in a game and it immediately dropped again, finally after getting it all set back up I find out that Im now diamond 1, wtf? Seriously? How does my internet dropping have anything to do with my “competitive skill rank”?
On one hand I didnt get banned which is good but on the other it dropped two levels off my rank
What happens when Jimmy sees he’s losing but in order to avoid a loss he turns off his modem so it seems like he lost connection?
I am not saying you did, but this would be abused if there weren’t any consequences.

My max does but for breakout it says 2 now because I just got it back up by one. I totally get that some people disconnect but for every person that does that theres 10 that lost connection

Dude, don’t sweat it. You win a few and you will back where you were. my level fluctuates plus or minus 2 in both directions over the course of a season . In January I bounced between Gold 4 and gold 6 in slayer. But in my qualifying rounds for February I got moved to platinum 2. So I feel pretty good about that. You will end up where you should over time.
You forget we can see your game history. you were diamond two before your DNF in the first place and it was two DNF games in a row not one.

No I was diamond 3 and I know I said in my post that I got disconnected twice (my power blipped twice in a row)
well before you two disconnects your game history shows diamond 2 not 3.
I think its cause I got diamond 3 right after the last game before I disconnected so I never finished a game as diamond 3 I know for a fact it was 3 though because me and my friend were talking about it right before I disconnected, plus if you look at my “all time top csr” youll see diamond 3
Well there is a very rare chance that after you dropped it counted it as a lose for one and because of how small the diamond league enough people passed you to kick you out of diamond 2 pushing you to the top of diamond 1

That could be it because I had a carnage report when I reconnected which said I had participated in the full match and dropped a rank to diamond 2 and had a 0.0 K/D etc. My second disconnect wasnt a full power outage, my router reset itself due to the power outage and so I got kicked and got the “lobby service issue” message and had to wait for my fireteam to finish the match. And of course that knocked another level off my rank. My friends were pissed both times because I suddenly disappeared while we had the lead then it all went downhill

True but that wouldn’t affect someones skill ya know? If the best quarterback breaks a leg twice he isnt suddenly considered a slightly worse quarterback. I guess I just fail to see how disconnects warrant a reduction in CSR. I mean was it not clear that I wasnt cheating the system? I was partied up with my friends and we were winning (until my power went out that is). Letting my team down was punishment enough
