OH FORGE!

Maybe because I didn’t do any forging in H2A, but I’m loving forge so far. I know a lot of people have ben complaining.

1.) A is below B on the controller, feels SO natural after a little bit of getting used to it for A to be down. RB select, LB deselect is perfect.
2.) Duplication location is right on point. (remember to look at the location you want it duplicated. Otherwise it may seem random)
3.) Welding…WELDING! This adds SO much to forge. So many possibilities.
4.) Scripting is unreal. Working doors and moving platforms has never been easier. (Just wish that we had activation areas. I can see an easy way to make a pressure sensitive platform, but that’s halo 3 unnessarily complicated stuff)
5.) Sound and Special effects! NO MORE STALE FORGE MAPS
6.) Magnets are much improved
7.) The forge worlds are gorgeous and huge. (I really don’t understand why anyone needs larger spaces. Okay maybe some ridiculous racetracks wont fit, but learn to deal with the space you have. I’m also sure they will come out with a larger space)
8.) Terraforming textures are great. Created maps look natural.

…oh rotation controls are terrible

Maybe because I did a tremendous amount of forging in H2A (and Halo 4, and Halo Reach), but I disagree with many of your observations.

“A” should be select, “B” should be deselect, common sense.

LB & RB should be for up and down movement, much better.

Welding is very interesting.

“Scripting has never been easier”. Lol what? Have you tried it yet? I’m reserving opinions on this until I’ve had more time with it. Triggers based on proximity are gone, and that’s a HUGE step backwards.

Special FX are nice, haven’t played with sounds yet.

Magnets are clearly better.

As a minigame Forger I often need huge spaces, especially vertical. The amount of vertical space available in H5 is pathetic compared to Forge Island and H2A canvases.

New terrain mechanics are much better.

No more kill balls, gravity volumes, or trait zones.

I appreciate the new features, don’t get me wrong, but 343 seems incapable of improving something without removing critical aspects at the same time.

All Im gonna say is 343 knows what they are doing and i wasnt always a fan of 343 but they have made me a fan a dozen times over with halo 5 forge is great as a huge forger I love it and think they did an amazing job…i just need to find delete all :joy:. . Btw rotation controls are easier to use if you use rotation snap

No kill ball? Damn. There goes my idea for Halo on Halo with a kill ball chaser to get players moving along.

While that may be an alternative, I don’t think it will have the same effect as having a huge fireball coming towards you and following you the entire length of the course.
