I really wish We could put the original CE and halo2 disks into the Xbox one and play them as back compatible in there OG glory, the anniversary remastered versions just don’t seem quite right CE especially . I know I can grab a 360 and do this or keep playing them on my crt TVs and OG Xbox ( this old tech won’t last forever ) but I suppose I can dream
As much as people want this to happen, there’s nothing to indicate that it will. That said there are options out there if you want that 30fps, CRT experience such as XLAN, Xlink Kai, etc.

Yes I agree doubtful it will ever happen. Although 343i is in the business of wish granting atm, I would love to be able to play all 5 mainline original titles and the 2 spin off games all on one console (no not tmcc but the original titles original disks) ., I remember checking the back combat lists regularly when they first announced they would do this for some. OG titles, ’ ‘shrug’
I recently dusted off an old OG Xbox to play Halo CE and it looks awful playing on a flat screen TV. I don’t mind the low resolution, it was only 480p, but it wouldn’t even cover the screen of the TV. I need to get me a CRT TV.

It can be quite jarring going back to the OG duke controller as well , especially after playing on an elite with paddles for some time now

No, you don’t need a CRT, man. Besides, I’d say what you’re describing is window-boxing, which is rather normal. And if you really want the OG experience, grab a copy of the PC version, install it, then go online and download Halo: Custom Edition, install Custom Edition, and then go back online, and download and install the Refined Campaign, which makes the PC port look, sound, and play just like the OG X-Box version. The Refined team is even working on a Refined experience for multiplayer maps as well, meaning that you’ll be able to play online multiplayer that feels like the OG X-Box multiplayer as well. Plus, you can use an X-Box 360 or X-Box One controller on the PC version of the game, and you can customize those controllers anyway that you want, although Keyboard and Mouse work best for multiplayer, but Controllers work just fine for the campaign.
You can always use an HDMI cable to hook up your computer to your TV as well if you feel like it.
And before you ask, YES, you need to buy a copy of Halo PC edition for this to work. You can download Custom Edition without it, but you can’t install Custom Edition because it requires a Halo PC product key, which can only be obtained with a physical copy of the PC edition of Halo CE.
Would like to see both get updated for Backward compatibility as well!

Don’t expect anything from 343; not only can they not handle basic server issues they can’t even comment on their own forum.

if someone with the required credentials from 343i as custodians of the halo requested to Xbox or MS or the relevant department it would certainly carry more weight for at least some serious consideration, now it might not be possible for a variety of reasons or conversely it may be easily possible .

I knew they handled it I was just saying that Microsoft should make it happen. Wasn’t going at 343i in a bad way about it lol

stckrboy, how about responding to our concerns about the server issues we Reach players have been experiencing for over half a year rather than this issue which affects very few users as opposed to everyone?
While I certainly understand you more than likely have zero to do with server maintenance at 343, it would be nice to see some kind of official reply in the various threads inquiring about this either in this forum or legacy support(other than simply locking them which implies a lot).
