Offline LAN

I can’t get it to work. Not as simple as networking boxes on a switch. Any step by step guides or good YouTube videos out there?

What are you trying to do?

If you are trying to connect two Xbox Ones directly with just a cable, I have a thread/video on that. It shows you how to set static IP addresses on the Xbox Network Settings.

This is actually true as well for “simple networking boxes on a switch” because there is no DHCP server on the network. 343i has stated that Halo MCC offline LAN requires the consoles to have IP addresses. In most home networks, IP addresses are handed out automatically by the router. But when you take the router away and direct connect with a switch, there is no DHCP server (router) to assign IP addresses to the consoles. So if you watch the video I made, you can use that same method for setting static IP addresses for all of the consoles that you have plugged in to a switch. Once they all have valid IP addresses, you will be able to play LAN.

If you are trying to connect multiple consoles with a router, just plug them in via ethernet and they should be good to go.
