Offline Content

Hey there,

I’m just inquiring as to whether there will be any more offline or rather single player modes or content released in the future.

The REQ packs and such are ok, but it feels like all the focus is just on warzone and a little bit of forge maps for online multiplayer.

The campaign seems like it’s half the length that it should have been and without splitscreen it’s even less than appealing. This is not a jab at splitscreen or the game, I’m just curious if there is going to be any decent content to be released for the future for single player/offline purposes. I feel like warzone is the only focus for me at the moment, don’t get me wrong, it’s amazing and love warzone. But I had Xbox live drop on me the other day and made me realise again how little the game has when online is not available.

I don’t mean to offend anyone or spark some horrendous out of control debate, just expressing desire for more content that isn’t online only.

I don’t know exactly why the other modes are online only, perhaps its to do with using the cloud to do some of the processing. Either way, I wouldn’t hold out hope for any other offline modes for Halo 5.
Perhaps by the time 6 rolls around, 343 will be more aquainted with the Xbox One, and will be able to use it’s power more efficiently.

It’s a shame, because halo was renown for its offline play and this campaign really didn’t feel like it was complete. I played reach only the other day and some missions were at least 4x or even 5x bigger than most of halo 5s.

if they weren’t going to give firefight or Spartan ops they could have at least put in longer missions and more explanation for the story. It’s a real shame.

I’ve always contended it was because of the REQ system. It’s an online only system (because it’s processed on the cloud and is MT based and therefore you need to be connected to access it and spend money) and the MP features of this game require REQs because of weapons and armour.

When you boot up a forge game or a custom game, you are using the REQs on your Spartan.

So unless there is a Campaign expansion, which is unlikely as everything will be focused on REQs and Halo 6, there won’t be any more offline content.

See I think that’s part the problem. Even though it’s free dlc it is only req focuses or its forge generated maps. They need proper maps and they really should have given some local multiplayer. I’ve had to take turns with friends the last few times and it feels like a chore and the story feels really cut short on the campaign.

But firefight would have made it perfect, doesn’t even need to be req associated. After playing reach the other day it is just completely lacking content. Quality is good but halos starting to be shoved into that "looks good but really lacking category.

i love warzone, but it can only keep occupied for so long.

I need better storytelling to build the universe

Yeah that’s the worse excuse for so many reasons.

The game itself is an example of being greatly hindered. It’s not even an opinion thing, critics agree and a lot of the fanbase agree. With Halo 6 around the corner they can’t afford to half bake it by restricting features. Especially ones that should be included.
