Not sure why they gutted the mode since it was a great warm up AND challenge mode.
The fact 343i keeps deciding to take away the small things we like or they completely misinterpret past bungie devs intentions (aka ranked modes) or they just won’t add the best stuff we’ve asked for a long time now (reach’s solo style firefight, halo 5’s style team firefight stuff, grifball, infection, etc etc) just shows how out of touch they are! Why add content we like or actually play when we should be suffering thru content they deem “playable”??
Very annoyed it’s always one step forward and two back when it comes to infinite, 343 and their brain dead decisions. Smh…

I mean too bad they didn’t keep it…but do we actually need it? Probably part of their can’t have more than X playlists reason lol. But you can just load bots in a custom game - you can set their difficulty too, unlike the match making ones which were the lowest or 2nd lowest difficulty if I remember right.

Yeah I’m not coming back to the game if they got rid of it. SBMM is too tilting in this game to make me want to play nothing but PVP. Just have to keep waiting until the CGB browser is out, I guess.

This sucks. Was a good way to get back into the game after a break, it allowed you to play easy enemies and get back into the rythem of this game, more so after playing other games.

Immensely frustrating. Bot bootcamp was the only thing keeping me anywhere near this game until proper PvE is in the game. Now this winter update is nothing but winter deception for me. Was hoping to get back into Infinite after not having played for almost a year, but I guess it will have to wait once more.

says its same for me, its a safe place to play , very relaxing and good way to practice, for beginners its the place to be born and grow, i bought the game for campaign and as for cosmetics, only for PvE or a firefight, so this means the end for me until they bring it back, i played bot bootcamp most of my time ( almost always ) when i played mm, very sad this, i hope really it comes back

Further player-hostile decision making. Bot bootcamp was a low effort but entertaining way to grind out XP once a week to slowly work through the battlepass for someone that really cannot stand PVP. Was looking forward to doing the same for the new pass and have just had any motivation to do so completely undercut. Either 343’s decision making continues to be weapons-grade terrible or the base code of Infinite is so rotten and unwieldy that they can’t add a playlist without taking one away. Awful from top to bottom.

no bot bootcamp? massive L. Closest thing to firefight. pvp is hot garbo now, servers are super laggy, and desync and hit reg is abysmal. never had a huge issue with those things till now. now the game is unplayable.

With it’s removal I think this marks a great time for me to stop playing again. I’m not a competitive person, I don’t like it and it brings out the worst in me unfortunately. So having bots to play against and being able to level up still was a godsend, because after a few PvP matches my blood just starts to boil unfortunately. But now it’s gone without a single word from 343 and that sucks. And please don’t tell me there’s training mode, that isn’t playing a match and earning xp, it’s just an endless killfest that gets you nothing

Honestly, just poor decision making on 343’s part. I’ve been told that giving “instructions” to 343 is “condescending,” but f it, what else are we supposed to do? It was the only reasonable to get through half of the challenges pre-update. Why take away content from a content-void game?
Makes you wonder if these guys ever passed 8th-Grade Algebra.

Yeah, but the problem is you can’t progress through the battlepass in customs or training mode. Yes, they said they were looking into adding it, but that could take months, if not over a year realistically speaking. And there are plenty of people out there like me that don’t like PvP for a variety of reasons. Mine personally is mental health, the games make me far too competitive and toxic and I don’t like that, so I avoid it personally. I get we are in the minority, but having a single PvE playlist that catered to new players and a more casual playerbase hurts nothing at all. We still get to play the game the way we want and progress the same exact way you and everyone else does

Pretty sure bot bootcamp was liked by most people casual and competitive alike (myself included), figures 343 would take it away.
I guarantee it was removed because 343 doesn’t want people earning match xp playing against bots to progress through the pass. What a joke, people don’t always want to sweat it out in mp .

idk if that’s their reasoning, but on that note, the fastest way for devs to ruin their game is making changes based on the competitive/pro-league community. ive seen alot of fun games die bc they changed a fun game based on the word of “pros”. its abysmal.

If that is the case, then it feels like another example of 343 overcompensating for a flaw. It’s like when they felt completing the campaign was too easy, so they ended up removing the Tank Gun glitch. They basically had to be bullied into putting it back in. It’s frustrating that they always resort to complete deletion instead of even attempting to rebalance. Even just less exp in Bot matchmaking would have been preferable to it’s complete removal from the game.

If you really just want to warm up or relax slaying bots… there is still the Academy.
You can even choose your weapons and equipment for maximum chill.
