Now, we KNOW it exists, in some form. It may not be on the game disc, or in the map packs. But somewhere on this planet it exists.
I can only speculate that Bungie intended to give the helmet out (via download code or some other method) to awards players who accomplished something.
Like the Recon Armour in Halo 3.
However, with the transition of halo, to 343 Industries, Bungie has dropped everything regarding Halo.
So that puts the resposibility in 343’s hands.
They’ve teased us with the GRD doll easter eggs, in the Anniversary map packs.
With their focus mainly on Halo 4, my main question is…
WILL WE EVER GET THIS HELMET?
I would like an official response. I can only hope that I get one.

Meh, I don’t even know what this helmet is, let alone much other things. So, what is the GRD/Bob helmet I’ve never heard of? And I have the downloaded version of Reach with all the maps, so I’m lost.
The Little Moa: So, there proly ain’t going to be anything new on Halo Reach as for maps or object pieces in forge world or etc, is there? Meh, should of figured, and I know halo reach will die when Halo 4 comes out, sadly…Especially when I fear Halo 4 is not going to be like Reach, but will be like Halo 3, not very fun…

As soon as Anniversary came out, I knew that no more DLC would be coming out for Reach, it would use too many resources which could be put towards Halo 4.
The GRD/BoB helmet was a helmet advertised in the Defiant Map Pack images, it was originally intended as confirmed by David Ellis, to be DLC, but was cut due to time constraints, it was never on the retail consoles, just the behind the scenes kits (dev kits and others).
That is the most ugliest helmet I have ever seen…But thanks for informing that there is no hope anymore for Halo Reach…;( I don’t really want Halo 4, and I bet its going to be worse then Halo Reach IMO.
Meh, thanks for informing me though, I really had hoped they’d give one more map pack out before Halo 4, but gah, I should have figured though. And yet we have to wait until November to even find out whether there game is good with Reach being updated, that makes me even more sad…;(
