I’m glad he’s standing up for himself and the team!
The good part is that servers cost money, so they get to save a lot of money, by having less servers. Money is the top priority after all.
Has anyone seen the $10 pineapples grenades 343 just dropped in the store? Lmao
No crossplay communication yet?
As much as I want to defense this 343 guy, I really can’t.
I can’t believe how naive they were.
I did see that. I was definitely…well…not sure.
Because your saying characters are so different is silly and arbitrary. The point is just that they want to sell you the coating over and over whether you like that or not.
Why on earth does the “feasibility” of adding specific playlists even need to to be considered? People want to play the game modes that they like, end of story. Nobody will mind waiting 2 minutes in queue to play their preferred game mode. 343 releasing an unfinished, predatory mess of a free to play multiplayer game isn’t my problem, I just won’t play it until this stuff gets fixed, simple as. Nothing worse than just wanting to hop on and play a few matches of X game mode only to be forced to spend potentially hours before you have the privilege of randomly being assigned to a lobby that rolls that mode. It’s great that there is at least some communication from 343 but I’d prefer to see the game fixed rather than read essays about how 343 messed up and how hard it’s gonna be for them to fix it. With 6 years and $500,000,000 put into the game I was just expecting it to at least be on-par with decade old Xbox 360 games but I guess in 2021 that’s asking too much. I’m sure this post sounded super toxic so sorry for that but it’s incredibly frustrating watching these game companies make the same mistakes year after year seemingly never learning from the past….Anyways hopefully the campaign is good!
Hence why they took out blood. They only care about attracting children with access to mommy and daddy’s credit cards.
They gave us the perfect playlist system in MCC why cant they just do that again?
Standard “we’re doing our best so please be nice to us” statement, and it feels as evasive and self-serving as ever. They had the job of making a good Halo game, a huge budget, six years to do it, and twenty years of franchise history to learn from. Anyone releasing this mess of a multiplayer with a straight face deserves all the scorn they are getting.
This is the exact reason we are here right now. If they try to save money by just lumping it all together, I guess we should call this a successful business move in which players are more likely to leave a game, based on the one they just dont like or cant do for a challenge, all this outrage at the store, and have people less likely to recommend the game or come back huh?
Cause that must be successful business if you just wayward the playerbase with them having no say.
You can still make money without limiting customization. CoD was able to do this
Admission players were not first in mind. Money was.
Every other halo was able to generate revenue
My opinion is that they scrubbed a lot when there was so much backlash last year, and essentially pushed out a game in under a year. I’m not saying they completely rebuilt everything in the past year, but I can only imagine that the game took a different turn and didn’t have the time to redo it all. And, now, they took the risk to release what they were able to complete, all the while trying to finish everything else that needed to be reworked. I’m probably wrong, but there obviously hasn’t been a clear answer to why the game, although very playable, was released in its current state. Just an opinion though.
Okay let me make this clear:
-
I have no issues with MTX.
-
I purchased armor in this game.
-
I purchase stuff in other games.
-
Apex’s store makes sense.
-
Infinite’s store doesn’t make sense.
-
If there’s an armor core in the store or in an event, and it doesn’t have the coating I’m using now or any coating that’s close enough - I’m not playing the event (loss engagement) and I’m not buying the armor core (lost sale).
-
If there’s a coating that’s right up my alley in the store or in an event, and it’s not compatible with my current armor core - I’m not buying it or doing challenges for it. No buy, no engagement.
And even the whole ‘they want you to buy it twice’ thing doesn’t add up because we’ve yet to actually see them sell the same coating between cores. All we got is the league coating for Mk7, Mk5, and Samurai (for free ironically).
None of this makes sense, not for us or them. That’s my only point.
While I feel bad for them. People are making their voices heard and it is assuring change (By approval from higher ups in the company). I do not condone/approve of harassment of the developers as they have little say when it comes to financials (constructive feedback is what I approve and that means 1: A specific problem/request and 2: A desired solution to the problem). They have little to no control of micro transactions and they are only really allowed to do what has been authorised and they are paid for. This is really about getting our voices to their higher ups. To the 343i dev’s, please keep the head’s high and get through this
I understand where they are coming from but how on earth did they come to the decision that selling cosmetics = Armor core locking and Coating locking per core and colours in general being locked behind cores?
This just doesn’t make sense. Even the most monetized f2p game lets you buy dyes to change the colour of your outfit AS YOU SEE FIT. There never has been a customization in the past 10 years that went “you know what, you can’t choose your own colours now”
As I’ve also mentioned before, core locking will actually hurt their sales because people won’t be interested in buying anything that doesn’t fit their favourite core. If a Yoroi fan sees a cool helmet but it doesn’t fit on Yoroi core, the chances of them buying that cosmetic just dropped to 0.
I just want to point out that 343 devs obviously want the best Halo they can deliver and they worked really hard all these years, including in the middle of a global pandemic.
At the end of the day it is not fair for Unyshek, Ske7ch or any particular Halo dev to be threatened and ridiculed for their job, as if they are the ones who decided to make the decisions that have been made.
It is all coming from the higher up which will never be exposed to the public and be called responsible for their decisions. All the issues the community is pointing out were somewhat expected by 343, but I believe it is all part of the plan. It all boils down to the F2P model and the 10 year Halo Infinite plan that is the fundamental stone of Halo Infinite’s development. It had to be different from the current model of the past Halo titles.
Is this model predatory? Absolutely, but Halo is a product and the goal is to make money. 343 knows for sure what they are doing and they have much more info, data and knowledge of what happens to the game. than we ever will to just say the solution is just say “how they haven’t thought about that? Just press a button and problem solved!” It is not that simple, it is not how game development works.
I wish Halo Infinite had a different path and I truly believe the devs wish the same. They just can’t make these decisions by themselves if it is going to jeopardize the 10 year plan. But they are the ones getting the wrath of the Halo community. It is sad, but I’m trying to be realistic here.
Where did he say he was the hero? Can you stop making things up please? I hardly see how this is constructive criticism when all you’re doing is trying to paint someone’s character as if they’re hatching some plot to steal everyone’s money.
Do you think everyone needs to hear the same old “corporate greed, devs bad” argument over and over again?
It’s tiring and annoying. The game’s pvp scene is barebones. We get it. They get it. Doesn’t make them work faster. You have a right to your own opinion. Just know you’re fitting ske7ch’s example of non-constructive criticism.
I’m seconding the sentiment that everyone MUST keep their comments constructive.
Nobody cares if you liked Halo 5 better or think Infinite is trash, that doesn’t help anyone and it hurts the chances that 343 will be able to listen to the constructive feedback that may result in the best possible end-product for us.
If your feedback is some sort of attack on 343 or the game as a whole then you’re a troll and need to stop.
Stay true to the big issues at hand.
- We feel that there is too little control over what gamemodes we play.
- Progression is Okay right now but most would’ve preferred that performance-based xp gains to at least factor in.
- We feel that the customization options are too little, especially when it comes to colors (not being able to craft our own basic coatings from owned colors, missing primary color coatings, etc.) This is important enough that it feels outright greedy when we see things we expected to come standard being sold for a whopping $20 in the store instead.
- We feel that there are not enough maps to support the current game modes. Sad about Forge being delayed. Situation there kinda sucks and we’re not sure why.
- Some weapons don’t fit well in the sandbox right now (Commando, Ravager, Bulldog.)
