I’m Sarge…

The entire post comes across as a F you to the consumers/loyal fanbase, we will do what want to do, because we know people that don’t know any better will buy into this and spend all sorts of money on microtransactions

I’m just waiting for this clear anti consumer money grab to blow up in their faces in the same way Star Wars Battlefront 2 blew up on EA when they tried the same garbage nonsense.
It’s going to be awfully hard to monetize a game in this new Business model when you have no consumers left to consume any of your over priced nonsense.

I used to be on team 343 knows what they are doing, but damn, way to shake things up by using EA’s playbook, Guess EA better watch out, they might have some competition on most hated Company coming their way.

It will be interesting to see if Halo and the Community can recover from this, I remember hearing how they wanted this game to last 10+ years, So if that is the case, my predictions are either the game dies in a year because no one wants to give into this predatory practice, or they just keep pumping out overpriced cosmetics for the rest of this games life clinging on to the fools that are willing to burn money on it.

This isn’t Fortnite, no one here wants to pay stupid amounts of money for cosmetics, if you wanted to try to bring in that Fortnite money that preys on Peoples wallets, you should have made your own new series to nickle and dime instead of using Halo and destorying your consumer trust in the process

100 % correct. I agree with everything you said.

This is the problem when you have all of these cancerous social media platforms. Everyone and their brother can just hide behind a username and say whatever they want because there’s very little in terms of repercussions.

The core gameplay is great, but 343 does deserve all the criticism they’re getting for the optimization, progression system, and lack of day 1 features. But that criticism should be delivered as if you were speaking to them in person, not this cowardice where people drop tirades and threats then skip off into the anonymity of the internet.

If I was the community manager at 343, I simply wouldn’t look at a damn thing on Reddit or Twitter. Does that make me miss out on a ton of valuable feedback? Without a doubt, but at least I wouldn’t have to sift through such hostile poison just to get to it.

I am well aware that this solution has its flaws, but with this community, I would funnel all feedback to here on Waypoint, and require members to demonstrate they have actual communication skills in order to get posting privileges.

Then you would be horrible at your job and should be replaced lol. That’s literally one of the main roles of that job. If you hated bad feedback why would you even try to get into that role in the first place? I feel that’s exactly what’s going on in our current situation.
