I agree too yeah the made mistakes everyone does but they need help not punches to the face as you can kinda tell with some of my posts on this post ^^; I want this game to succeed but yet there are people that think the series needed when bungie left and want it to flop are not helping the game at all their hurting it like you said and I cant stand seeing these posts when it makes me want to leave the forums where it was to just talk about halo and not well this hell hole it is now
Could you imagine if 343i threw their hands up and took a loss right now due to all the negativity floating around. And then what, we wouldnât even have a Halo game to play at all. I feel a lot of people get a taste of this toxic communication and it spreads like a wild fire. I mean, look at all the threads that have been created over the same exact topics.
Microsoft would find another studio most likely.
Yep. I donât know who was calling these shots but they should be the ones getting all the angry feedback. Iâm sure however that theyâre making tons of money from the shop and probably getting a raise instead.
Yeah. I get all the criticism. But lately it seems to be getting a little more personal and a lot less constructive.
Possibly, but how far will that get things, and how long will that take.
How am I being a jerk if Iâm voicing my frustrations with a shoddy game put out by a studio with a track record of doing this already?
They had a dedicated Slayer playlist in the flights and it was great. Now we canât have it cause it hurts objective playlists? That is a total cop out. To me it comes off as a way for 343 to brush more bad news under the carpet and hope nobody really cares enough to get mad about it.
Not sure what youâre on about there, since I said nothing about any of that, youâre replying to me about all I said was the objective game modes are not enjoyable since there is no separate slayer mode for people to focus their challenges on, instead of them not doing the objective
I have noticed it and thats not good fro the game like at all
If they didnât care, they wouldâve already given you the digital middle finger.
We all know what that looks like. A company who refuses to listen and consistently goes against player wishes. Thatâs more of an activision trait. Not 343.
Thatâs not how a contract works. 343 is contractually obligated to complete the game or else be in breach of contract and open to lawsuits from Microsoft. Which we all know would be a terrible way for 343 to go.
They have no option but to finish the game. Best case scenario is that they realize how badly theyâve screwed up and fix it to bring the game back to a Halo that everyone knows and loves. We arenât asking for a billion new features, a lot of people want co-op, forge, and a decent choice in the game playlists. I know thatâs what I want. I would love to have the current MCC playlist selection ability over the hot garbage weâre gonna get on Wednesday.
Plenty of folks 40+ enjoy Halo. Maybe not the majority but still a meaningful segment. I was 20 when CE came out and have had plenty of LAN nights drinking and slaying with friends. Much of the original community was made up of adults.
True that a lot of folks in my age group donât play as much (or at all) due to having so many other responsibilities but some of us are still buying and playing the games.
Fair enough. Still a lot of us older people around playing Halo. Donât know many of us who enjoy Fortnite.
Understood, but they have given us a giant middle finger in terms of forge and co-op. I know thatâs not everyoneâs cup of tea in terms of game modes but theyâve been central components of Halo games for at least 15 years. I fail to see how some of you guys canât grasp that idea. I understand what youâre saying about 343 not being as bad as some other devs/producers, but right now, looking at their track record itâs literally what weâve experienced with every game 343 have developed in the franchise.
I already did, for this game and Halo 5 since its Closed Beta was announced. The only thing we got from âmyâ suggestions were Equipment/Armor Abilities as map pickups.
36 with a wife and 3 kids. I get the sentiment. I get minimal time to play anymore but when I do, I want to play what I want to play, not what the janky playlist options let me pick from.
I see this playlist, co-op, and forge debacle as figuring out a great 20 year anniversary dinner at a Michelin star restaurant with your wife, only for her to surprise you with a 3 day old McDonaldâs filet-o-fish and a flat Pepsi to drink.
I have nothing against grabbing new players, I have nothing against customization monetization.
The way they did it however is just undeniably bad to the point where it checks off every sin toward players.
I wonât wanna blame them grabbing new players to give us this bad monetization and customization but there is a clear design failure regarding their entire monetization plan. What irks me the most is that they didnât even see this coming from the design stage, that how robbing players of basic customization like COLOURS is gonna bite them in the behind, like really hard.
Iâm bummed about that, too. Donât get me wrong.
However, busting 343âs chops about it is just beating a dead horse.
So we finally see a return to glory in the Halo franchise and yâall still will never take off the bungie blinders?
Another thing Iâm starting to see frequently. Why donât we go look at Bungieâs track record with destiny?
This is a jump of the gun.
I understand his feelings about people throwing in some really harsh words that are just unneeded and that is not okay, no excuse for that.
But I think some of his arguments arenât as big of a argument for his point as actually even against it.
Even the statement about having âUI Constraintsâ is a bad bad sign. If you have already issues being able to offer more than 2 playlists, then it not only shows how inflexible the code dealing with that is, but also that in the day it was conceptualized, nobody thought about ever having more than those playlists. Adding more must have not been a thought back then because else, the code would be able to handle such cases.
The other argument that objective playlists tend to dry out quickly is another bad point. If they dry out quickly, one should be able to deduce that either, such game modes are no fun and people leave or that there was no interest for them to begin with. So one would need to look at the date and see, is the real reason those playlists die a lack of fun or just a general lack of interest in those and then decide if its even worth putting much effort into creating them.
Also, sacrificing other popular playlist from the past in favor of others that the devs would want people to play should not be the answer either.
And to end it, âbut we have to pay for our servers!â should not be a argument for very pricy MTX.
Nobody expected the F2P mp to be 100% free. Obviously money needs to be made somewhere, but there is a âfair and goodâ way to do that and a âbad and predatoryâ way. I donât want to undermine the effort that it takes to find a good model, not everything works out for every game, I get it! But a bad system is worse than no system. A bad system, which gives players the feeling that all the game cares about is their spending, will sooner or later annoy a player so much, they will give it up.
Iâve seen it happen to MMOs, to other games, hell even to me just recently with Destiny 2 where I thought that being asked to pay for a anniversary event, that is meant to celebrate, is just too much greed and gave up on the game completely and I feel like this is what will happen to many in Infinite too. It doesnât matter that those are only cosmetics. Imagine youâre new to the game, give it a try since itâs F2P and it clicks for you so you invest more time and decide since you want to spend more time in this game, might as well check out how you can customize your Spartan to fit your taste, only to find out that you either can look like a generic Spartan like 90% of the other players, or youâre asked to lay down really hefty prices for even one skin, it will make some of those players just lose interest.
But thatâs just my two cents on things.
