Official Please Remove The XP Cap Thread

As I has heard many people say when they play Halo 4, I would like to ask as well. Why do we have an XP cap? This is the only franchise that has one as far as I have noticed in gaming. Why should the people who play more be penalized for not being able to level up? If I want to try to level as much as I can to get to 50 before I go to bed, don’t I have that right? It is just unwise to have one, because that promotes them taking out halo and going to play another game. I have friends that I am trying to catch in level and now I can’t because this xp cap is keeping me behind. I really hope that you guys will remove this. I don’t even use doubleXP and I still hit the cap. It’s not hard to do if it is a weekend or a holiday or if someone doesn’t have work that day.

Who else agrees out there?

It truly is ridiculous to have an XP cap, especially when you have a double XP promotion going on (If I use double XP, I can maybe play 14-15 matches before it caps me, and that is if I get NO commendations or challenges). Plus, I am about to get the monthly challenge which awards 17k XP. What happens if I hit it and I am capped? And even if I am not capped, that is then 3-4 matches I won’t get XP from that day (again, using double XP promo)

> The daily XP cap is intended to preserve the integrity of the progression system. In other words, it’s in place to provide an early gate from players running amok in their progression. When we launched, we had a bug where double XP tokens were being consumed even when you went over the cap. That has since been fixed. In the coming weeks, we will be monitoring how many players are hitting the cap so we can respond accordingly.

ITT : people who don’t realize you can play FOR FUN WITHOUT CARING ABOUT XP AT ALL like in halo 1/2/3/ODST/reach

Well at least comment on there every once in a while to keep it bumped, more than 2000 votes is insane. But the more yelling people do about it the better I suppose.

sorry i typed it up earlier and didnt happen to do my research because I had to leave. I really think that they shouldn’t care if we progress in levels fast. And as for people saying that why can’t you play without gaining xp. You get commendations and challenges as well as almost 3k a match and all that xp goes to waste. I love playing but seriously right now is intense because people race towards SR130 on my friends list and I want to be one of the first people I know that hit 130.
