- fix whatever bug changes my color/textures in custom games. It kills my presentation and makes my map look poorly forged.
- Sword and Hammer should stand VERTICALLY on weapon pad. No Halo map has ever had a Sword laying on it’s side, and this ruins some of the spectacle of visual awe when placing the sword on a map. It’s a silly thing to request, but I think it’s massive impact.
- Halo 5 style ring pieces would save my blood pressure.
- Being able to adjust the size of the Forerunner energy barrier pieces pleaseeee.
- More varieties of energy barrier designs/looks.
Correct me if I am wrong and some of these are already existing or is being addressed but here are my following feedback so far. Also, I am factoring in SMART so I’m not expecting anything immediate, hoping for these over time. Even if it takes years with other top proprieties taking precedence.
Feedback - More Classic Forge Items
Description: More classic items like the “Gold Club” (Hammer mechanics with the golf club asset), “Classic powerups” (the powerups that you don’t pick up, they activate the second you touch and have the classic look of pyramid/square/circle)
Feedback: Spawnable Campaign AI/AI Scripting
Description: Spawnable AI/AI Scripting (Not just spartan bots. but even campaign AI. Not just the ones in Infinite’s campaign but even the ability to add enemies previous titles or even the cut enemies in Infinite. So If you wanted to add drones from H2A, they are there as well. I know its a reach but still would like more AI to fight
Reason: I know its been mentioned by Forge Lord but still want to throw in my support for this as it would be fund to have forgeable firefight happen
Feedback: Pod Spawning
Description: Developer made vehicles that are pods able to spawn in or get into and release and can drive them down from the sky. Whether then be drop pods, insertion pods, or breach pods.
Reason: Something I have just always wanted since the Halo 3/Reach days and many forges and modders have tried to replicate from the campaigns, but just not to the full desire because they are usually clunky and broken and that developer tools could do more with. Maybe even see it in matchmaking.
Feedback - Inject/Import custom made assets/files, even modded Weapons/Vehicles/Armors/Skins/etc
Description: Some sort of tool, possibly a PC only feature, that allows people to create assets and import them. Maybe even custom files like audio and animations. I know sounds easier than done as you have to factor in collision mesh, texture maps/materials, and so on.
Reason: If there was some way, this would allow for more creative map designs possibly.
Feedback - Forgeable Battle Royale
Description:
Reason: I know, super controversial to some but as an old school player who enjoyed when reach made Hunger Games custom matches, they were a blast. So would be nice to create and host custom forge-made Battle Royale. Have high player population, have softkill zone that closes in, have ordnance pods and pelicans that have set paths to drop in weapons, ammo, powerups, equipment, and vehicles.
Again, I know some of these may take a lot of time, possibly not even going to happen maybe, but I think these would really good additions that would improve the Forge mode with more fun creations.
I just placed some Named Location Volumes:

I’m not colorblind, but seeing through the bright yellow is extremely difficult.
And when you’re close enough with the camera, the whole screen is just bright and yellow…painful…
Custom equipment variants: A, B, C, D, etc.
Possibly team specific custom equipment
It would be an absolute Gem to have the color swatches with some labeling for us colorblind folk. Simple descriptive names too, light blue, med blue, etc. Maybe with a hex value too.
a color wheel with hue and saturation dials, similar to that in some drawing programs, would be better for me in the long run, but that seems further away from labeling the already existing swatches.

There were 3 Node options under the Inventory tab for scripting that were shown in the leaked build but are now gone in live. They are Set weapon magazine ammo, set weapon reserve ammo, and set weapon total rounds. Removing them has really crushed my hopes for my forge map and I cant continue with my vision without them. Please consider adding them back in.
Here is what I would suggest:
-no limit on pieces for a prefab (currently 150 limit)
-No limit on how many prefabs you can bookmark. I have around 30 or so I beleive bookmarked and new ones I bookmark will not show up unless I remove previous ones I bookmarked so seems to be a hard limit on how many you can have.
-Better spawning in of objects. There are some objects that spawn in at an angle and so getting them straight and even is an absolute nightmare.
-Water and covenant items (I beleive 343 said they are actually doing this)
-a flat circle primitive object (like the ring but totally solid and not having the hole in the center)
-ramps that are just ramps and not have the huge floor piece attached to them
-Be able to spawn in full game mode where ever you are in monitor mode. Hate having to drag a spawn point to every part of the map I want to test
I’m sure some of these node request have been asked for, but just in case.
- Objects; Damage Sheild. Same as damage object node, but only affects the sheild. Currently I have to check the sheild health before taking it away via the use of “get object sheild” node.
- Logic; For Every N Seconds. Same as the Events Custom, Every N Seconds, but have it in the middle of a script. This way I don’t have to add a “Wait N Seconds” node after every iteration within a for loop.
3.Event Player; “On Player AI Scan”. Currently making use of the mark button as this is the least used button/has the least amount of affect on gameplay to start a custom event. AI scan would surely be used even less then marking in actaul game play and as such would have less affect on normal gameplay while still adding a custom button. Ideally we would have an “On Player …” event for each action/each controller button. - Even Players; “On Player Switch weapon”. Having certain traits while holding a specific weapon then checking if the player isn’t using it or not. Same as 3 above.
- Join object lists to have more input nodes, ideally 6. this way 4 objects/players per list. 6 lists 4x6=24, so at least.
- Stall a vehicle. stop it moving like after it’s shot from a shock weapon. This would help with race modes and a starting gate/position.
Back with more feedback/requests:
- Spline tool for roads, paths, or general object placement (Spacing tools would be nice, too, if repeating objects along a spline).
- Foliage painter - Manually placing foliage such as grass is extremely time consuming.
- Snap object to surface/Drag object on surface
I expect most of these have been suggested already, but here are some things which are needed IMHO:
-An easy way to create water, making it colourable too.
-Glass which is colourable, not just increasing black opacity. Glass which is different shapes such as triangles, curves, domes etc.
- More tree/ bush variety.
- A way to retexture multiple pieces at once, rather than one by one.
-Prefab scripted objects like light bridges, doors, elevators etc. - Water puddle effects to go on ground/ surfaces.
BTB Total Control needs to be added as a game type. Right now there is no way to make it work, only strongholds work. I’d like my BTB map to support all BTB gametypes.
spline road/path creation would be cool. if scaling was achieved, splines should be the next step. most importantly splining grouped objects, something scaling cant do either.
Like in previous Halo Games, I don’t quite get why grass, flowers etc. are mostly perfect squares with sharp edges.
This seems very unnatural.
It would be great if there were “asymmetrical” variants.
Also a update for Xbox one to actually be able to see the glass
Would be great if buttons/switches had a built-in “Disable for X seconds after use” feature.
Or if there was a specific node for that.

~To be able to scale multiple objects at same time
~Allowing us to set our playable character avatars arms to be at our sides with no weapon option
~Please make more objects that can go down to 0.1 in Size, I’m (y3l10wflash, on Xbox) making Tom & Jerry characters for xLoud Mary Jane’s Tom & Jerry map and I’ve made Jerry completely out of Dry Erase Markers, can’t find any objects that can go down to that size besides the dry erase marker
~If we can get a few arch-angled objects (Like the cables but without the extra stuff hanging off of them)(Hard to make characters eyebrows, tails, chest, and more that need an arch angle with current objects since nothing can go that small that has an arch to it)(I’m sculpting alot of Characters for others and my own maps: Tom & Jerry, Batman/ Nightwing Ace/ Joker/ other Batman Characters, Conker/ Squirrels/ Bears, my own Original Characters & Creatures for my own Universes, and many many many more planned to make
~A single beam of light that is same size all throughout that is slowly pulsing (In one way related to a Lightsaber project I’m doing lol)
~Please and thank you add all letters to Forge, we currently have only letters up to G or H I believe
For Farther Down The Line in Halo Infinite and/ or Next Halo Game (If not possible in Halo Infinite then just for next Halo game):
~Much much much Higher Budget for FX to have FX across whole BTB/ Campaign Mission map (For sure for next Halo game please and thank you)
~A Donation System (A built in donation system where people can donate to a Forger, with 30-50% going to Forger(s) that made a creation (Bigger portion of donation for Forgers if its more than 1 Forger that made the Creation), and all the rest of the Donation goes to 343 Industries, & Xbox/ Microsoft)(This is y’all to decide but it would so many Forgers that I know are hurting financially but make content for others to enjoy)
~Sculpting Tools more akin to Blender/ Unreal Engine (I love to Sculpt stuff alongside Forging Maps & Modes but Sculpting is very limited currently in Forge)
~Much higher Scripting Nodes & Brain Limit
~Much much much bigger Budget overall for Objects to make hyper-realistic BTB/ Campaign Mission Sized maps if wanted with space to spare (Pretty sure this would have to be for next Halo game)
~Ability to scale how big player character is (With it being different per team)
~A Firefight mode like Halo Reach for Halo Infinite and/ or for next Halo Game
~Character Framework (I’m making a temporary replacement In-Game for others to use to make their own Characters in their maps but it would be awesome if an official one gets made by y’all at 343, 1 Character Framework for Men, and 1 Character Framework for Women.) How your Character Framework would work if y’all ever hopefully make one is to have one object called a Character Framework Male and one called Character Framework Woman that places a blank slate character in Forge Canvas
Then from there you can make all body parts bigger/ smaller and adjust them as needed and that would naturally pull other parts connected to it with it, and their would be many joint points where the body parts naturally bend such as neck/ knees/ shoulders/ mouth/ eyes (also requesting eyes object that can open and close)(And another request for another forge object piece made that can be added to the 343 Character Framework called a Joint Addition that allows the body parts to connect & rotate in even more places (if making a unique character/ creature that is not human which will have different joint points than a human)
(With all of this hopefully made possible to be scalable down to 0.1 and can be made dynamic to have characters that move (And have scaled Customized Character Frameworks that can be dynamic as well) with the Character Frameworks able to work with the Campaign AI that y’all already have in the works (Oh and ability to take control of characters we make and allowing it where each player can look like a completely different character set by the Forger for Custom Games, 1 player in control of the Alien from Alien Isolation would be WOOOOOO (There’s so many game missions/ universes/ characters/ etc I would love to make in Forge that have a feeling people would love to experience and will be Forging for decades to come)
~Cinematic Tools (To get very advanced filmed scenes, filters, and unique angles etc In-Game, don’t know alot about cinematic tools)
~Animation Framework (To allow us to make custom animations for our characters/ vehicles/ weapons/ objects/ creatures/ AI/ etc)
~Music & Sound Frameworks (Ability to make our own sounds/ music In-Game with a sound and music making tools (ability to adjust tempo/ visually seeing where notes are for Music Framework and can adjust them) to make unique sounds and if possible allow us to record sounds/ music with our own equipments/ headers/ microphones and send it to y’all to have approved for our maps)
~Vehicle Framework (Some kind of Vehicle framework that allows players to make our own vehicles that can look, move, sound, fire, alt-fire, abilities, etc differently)(I made the EO88 Batmobile that is uploaded currently and would love if like the Character Framework there was something for Vehicle Framework that is customizable)
~Weapon Framework (Same thing as Character and Vehicle Frameworks, some kind of Framework that allows players to make our own Weapons would be legendary!)
~Voice Framework (A feature where verified Forgers are able to submit a microphone/ headset recorded Voicelines for use for our Forge Maps that y’all can approve)(It would add so much potential to Forge/ Custom Games/ Custom Campaigns if we can use our own custom Voicelines for announcer, characters in map (People, Beings, Creatures, AI, etc) and this with the Character, Vehicle, & Weapon Frameworks would do wonders for the possibilities of Forge!)(Especially if we can adjust recorded Voicelines approved by y’all with Forge even further to sound even better, imagine ya record your voice and then after your voice clip is approved then in Forge ya can make it sound alienish or like an Elites or make it sound differently with a number of options to pick from)

I believe in you all at 343i and all partner teams/ studios across all departments at 343 and partners! Sorry for this being long I tried to follow SMART as much as possible! I recommend all this to y’all to give Forgers much more control on how they tailor make their experience (Especially since we can Forge as a group of 8 together now) My Forge Guild of 70+ people (& growing) and I have been making use of that group Forge feature so thanks!
I have some feature suggestions after completing my map:
- Add the ability to turn vehicles/weapons into non-interactive scalable objects with phased physics and the ability to change texture/colors. Sometimes you want to use these items as set dressing, the applications as follows:
- Normal scale - say you want to fill out a car park, but having only civilian vehicles gets repetitive/boring, you want some warthogs, mongooses, etc. but you don’t want players to be able to drive them/damage them. Or you want to have a warthog as a small toy decoration.
- Tiny spartans - again using items these as a non-interactive environment item, you could have a map thats literally just fighting all over a massive warthog.
- Ability to toggle damage for Fire/Lightning FX, sometimes you want damage, sometimes you don’t depending on map needs.
- Color spread should be way lower by default, maybe 5 or 10 at most.
- Make default values for light objects more novice friendly, outer cone/inner cone settings should default to something decent, I don’t have the values on hand, but they can be adjusted so that you get a nice middleground shadow casting light source. It took me a while to figure it out, help users make punchy lighting faster and easier.
- Making consistent spacing between multiple items sitting in a row is a bit of a pain, e.g. power seed delivery sockets, add an option in object properties to adjust space between multiple selected items. Or make 5 delivery sockets as a single item option, rather than adding them one by one.
- Ability to scale textures on objects, as of now it’s a small repeating pattern which exposes obvious tiling. Say you want a brick wall but now you can only get a lot of tiny bricks, add the ability to zoom in the texture to have bigger bricks. So on with other materials.
- Perhaps a bit ambitious, but you could add NPC Marines that don’t need any AI or interactivity, but have several animations to choose from like standing, sitting, lying on the ground, waving hands, clapping hands, aiming down sights, maybe some goofy ones as well. This would help to build lived in environments. And a bit more ambitious have a walk/run cycle for these npc with a placeable volume or a line along which they do it. Maybe add an ability to script a dialogue textbox with them, ability to exchange weapons/items, etc. Don’t know if the engine supports this, but you could imagine the type of experiences forgers would be able to do, especially in regards to SP/PvE maps.
