Tired of playing alone? Tired of playing with a bunch of randoms who don’t seem to understand the basic principles of, lets say team work? Tired of having to fight your own team just to get a power weapon or certain vehicle? Maybe your simply tired of carrying your team.
I can tell you, Halo is not meant to be played alone, and playing with a team who communicates enemy locations, their own intentions, and generally has a plan of execution makes playing, every night for hours on end, highly enjoyable.
The Brothers At War is a community of gamers that strive for perfection, we enjoy playing and we want to play with like minded people. We don’t always win, but we always go in giving it 110%. Winning isn’t everything, its the people you play with that makes these games fun.
Before I get into any specifics, this thread is designed for anyone who is interested in joining the Brothers At War to get a basic understanding of what we are about, what we hope to accomplish, and what you can expect if you join our ranks. > WHAT WE SUPPORT
The Halo Task Force of Brothers At War supports squads in North America and Europe, we are looking to expand that support to Australia and New Zealand as well (wink wink).
We currently support the following game types in Reach:

We are looking to create some casual Squads, that would be permitted to play any game type(s) they wish and have a more laxed “practice” and activity level.

The Brothers At War is a military themed gaming community, we do have ranks (Marine/Army).
Members of BAW would start out as a Recruit, upon completion of 14 days of activity with your squad, or the successful Recruitment of 2 other members you would be promoted to Private.
From Private to Specialist rank is based off of Recruitment goals, the quicker you are able to recruit members, the quicker you will be promoted. Upon reaching Specialist, promotions are handled differently. Members will be promoted based on their actions, being active on the site, continued recruitment, always showing up for practices, participating in custom game nights, showing initiative (taking action without being told to do so, such as hosting games to assist Recruits with call outs, creating maps that would be beneficial for the community such as maps to help with skills such as grenade throws, flag juggling, hosting weekly challenge games, etc). Members who show they are able to operate at the next level, who put in time and effort to make BAW better will be promoted.

> PRACTICES
Our squads host practices or “meetings”, in which each team schedules days where our members meet to play. Practices are particularly important for our competitive squads, where team work, communication, and tactical preparation are paramount to a successful match.
For our other teams, such as casual squads, practices may include going over some basic map call outs, and the rest of the time spent playing in matchmaking. We do not dictate what our Squads go over for practices/meetings as long as these things happen.
For the machinama team, it would be the creation of “sets”, rehearsals and actual filming of the project.
What is required, is the meeting of squad members to play together. For our competitive squads, we want them to meet to cover call outs, basic plans, put those preparations into controlled actions. We require our Squads to meet at least 2 times a week (more is encouraged.

> MATCHES
The Brothers At War want to be a dominating force in Halo. To do this we must be competitive and play matches. While we are still building our member base and not really in a position to participate in matches at this time. We are actively preparing and searching for people who want to play actively in clan matches, from clan battles to GameBattles, we want to dominate them all.

Our website is an integral part of our community. It is where we post all up coming events, news related to the community, and Halo related news, we use it to announce promotions, and the creations of new squads, as well as keep in contact with our members. The site serves as a hub for all of our information, our ranking structure, rules and regulations, match record, and member roster.
The site is a very valuable asset, as well as a location where members can meet other players, discuss strategies, create parties, as well as display to the world what we, as a gaming clan are all about.
We take a considerable amount of pride in our website, and because of all the hard work put into it, we expect our members to use it, often.
Members are required to register and be actively involved on our site. Interested members must fill out an application located on our website in order to even join.
BAW does have an activity requirement for our members and those who can’t adhere to it will be removed.

In order to join BAW, members must:
+Be at least 14 years of age
+Have a working microphone
+Be able to access BrothersAtWar.net regularly
+Be able to attend practices regularly
While we are a military themed clan, we are not a “strict” military organization. We all want to have fun and play with like minded individuals, our ranks are in place to give members the initiative to drive us forward and make themselves better players and members.
