This week’s data drop is out! Looks like its in letter format again. link
-Seems halsey is snooping around finding info on ONYX, and the writer of the letter seems to know more about it than her at that point in time.

Apparently its a few days before Reach was attacked.
Hmmmm, RED FLAG is a concentration of Spartan forces in an attempt to meet the enemy with a final stand? Or something more deceiving than that?
“They’ll being asking everyone involved questions,” - must be firewater that’s brewing. Even if it’s a typo, it works well to show an unfocused mind.
Ooo birthplace of Halsey!
I like how they’re going back to the story line of how planet Reach actually fell.
It seems Admiral Parangosky suspects the Covenant will soon arrive at Reach (which they did). RED FLAG according to halopedia is the operation the Spartans II were supposed to leave on before the covenant arrived at Reach.
HMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!! It seems like they’re trying to fit the Halo: Reach story into the Halo Universe. And that makes me mad. The entire halo: Reach game needs to be ret-conned and/or redacted from the official Canon.
343, please stop trying to force that horrible story from Reach to fit into the Established canon. It doesn’t fit. Just use the Nylund Novels, PLEASE!
in the simplest of terms, the objective of Op: RED FLAG was to capture a Covenant ship, use it to find the Covie homeworld, kidnap a profit and bring them back to ONI/UNSC
I find the second of today’s data drops to be very interesting. Why is ONI Section 3 keeping such a close watch on Halsey and why does she rate so high on the ONI Liability Index?
The behaviour analysts recommend that she should have at least two handlers at each of the sites she works at and strongly discourage her superiors from calling her off planet.
I for one, enjoy the fact that 343 is throwing us these small puzzle pieces that help us connect the events of the literature to the events of the games.

Game Canon overwrites Novel Canon, so technically, the book is wrong.

uh oh he said it. -runs-
But seriously If youve read Ghosts of Onyx, then you know why she is such a high liability.
I cant wait for glasslands!
Well the data drops time well with the release of Glasslands [I wrote Halsey on accident].

I think you’ll be happy to know Halo: Reach is just ONI’s take on what happened.

That was a theory…
Reach is canon.
Proof: Assault on the stars, Glasslands, Data Drops.
End of that discussion.
Point Final

Not according to a slip of paper I found in my Legendary Edition…
Neither are wrong. Everything fits like a puzzle. This helps merge the two better but all the dates and everything line up. This has been an ongoing topic. There are a few stretches in the timeline but not really any worth griping about out in my eyes.
