I think we should have an off topic section for people with a certain amount of posts, like 1 or 2k or something. It wont get flooded by trolls and there wouldn’t be too much a moderation problem.
just my ten cents.
Not a bad idea. Actually, I kinda like it. But for now, Yo is good enough for me.
Wont happen. 343 don’t want us talking about other games and consoles.

No, it’s not that, it’s more of the way the general Halo community acts, just look at the flood, and the state the Halo 4 forum board is right now.
Right now the Yo thread is good enough, and until the general Halo community grows up, and quit acting like little kids, I don’t think we’ll see an off topic forum board on these forums any time soon.
Do you think it would be fun to have an Off-Topic section on this web-site like B.nets
Flood? Its really fun and id like to have it here.
just thought it would be a good oppurtunity for the more experienced members of the forum to have a coherent conversation, regardless of whether its halo related or not.
I’m neither for or against an off-topic forum, however why would there be a place to discuss everything non-Halo on a site specifically designed for only Halo?
I’ve been wondering why there is no off-topic forum since I started posting here. I would love to get one.
Just go to BNet. The flood forum is pretty active.
> I’ve been wondering why there is no off-topic forum since I started posting here. I would love to get one.
I guessing it’s either because of the way the community acts, or because 343i is build for maintaining Halo, unlike Bungie, who was build because a few guys wanted to make video games in their basement.
I really think polls should be allowed to be in the section they are relevant to, which would get them more traffic, thus more votes, visa vie more relevance.
I cant think of a better replacement for the disposed forum section then a off topic section. YO seems very popular and it would attract a fair amount of traffic, which the poll section is attracting almost nobody.

why is there an off topic section on ANY forum dedicated to something?

Poor choice in my opinion, if you have a forum, Waypoint for example, you expect it to stay strictly Halo talk, that’s why all the boards are dedicated to Halo or Xbox in general.
Waypoint was intended for all things Halo, however with general discussion, you can discuss anything related to Xbox as well.
But for players to discuss games from the Playstation 3 or PC, they all have their own dedicated forums on the web, you don’t need to discuss that sort of thing on a Halo & Xbox website.
The Yo! thread really cannot take the role of an Off-Topic forum. You cannot post your own thread and let people reply to it. You just go in there and chat.
I do like the Yo! thread, but an Off-Topic forum would be a lot better. Also, I think it would help evolve the new community a bit more.
The only thing most people do is complain in the Halo 4 forum. But an Off-Topic forum would let people relax a bit and just talk about some other stuff.
Please 343i, make this happen. I really think we need this. (=
Also, it should have a specific name in my opinion. Just like the Flood, but something different. The Community should suggest something.

Yeah, but I think it’s mostly because people want to talk about other games here to see if any one else in the community plays those games. Plus I like seeing threads talking about PC games, it shows how active the PC community is.

Here isn’t the place to do it sadly, PMs are always available and other ways of contacting people or talking to them on the web.
Hey, I support this. I made a thread too, so sorry. I didn’t notice that somebody already made a thread about this.
Not now, not while the Halo 4 forum is full of children crying over a mis-informed article, it shows how bad an off-topic section can get.

Yeah, but that’s like trying to find some one buy going through the phone book and calling every one trying to find the right house where your friend lives.
