I know this relates to Halo in no way, but I haven’t found any useful help.
So before I could play the new H5 update, my xbox broke, yet it was perfectly fine the day before (6/27/16). I’d go check the Microsoft website for help, but the Microsoft forums are useless in helping me with this, I’ve tried everything they mentioned, not even the troubleshooter helps. by broken i mean that it powers on for one second, the light flashes, even the power brick responds, and then it’s instantly off orange light and all. I’ve had it since 2012 and now it just doesn’t wanna work anymore. Knowing how resourceful the Halo Community is, I figured I’d ask you guys after learning the Microsoft forums are useless because I’ve got a feeling one of you guys had this problem, and solved it without having to buy a new xbox. I really don’t wanna replace the whole thing for $300.
what I’ve tried and failed:
- Unplug for 2 days and plug everything back in - check the power brick - new outlet - full unplug and replugging of all cords - Checked Fan… Cleared it
If there’s anything that doesnt involve buying the new xbox that’d greatly help because I’ve been dying to try that new update and forge with REQS
oh my god the same thing happen to me a couple weeks ago. i didnt fix it but it randomly started to work on day but later out i found out that my little brother pure water on the fan

OP you didn’t lose power or have a power surge did you? I know the Xbox has the brick adapter which helps with power surges but as you know already nothing works 100 percent.

as far as I remember, no I’ve had no power surges before the system broke, only after the system broke.
